I was thinking about that the other day...

So....they DO think that the flood water became the ice-caps. So before that, there wasn't any of those caps, is that right? Everywhere was the same temperature if I remember what I've been thaught.

I was very surpised the other day when I was going through my little brother's Bible Stories book, (looking for that *amazing* story of God stopping the sun for a day.lol) and I noticed the flood picture that traumatized me as a kid...and there were two Mammoths there! Standing on a big rock right next to people and big lizards and felines. Now, I asked my brother why they drew mammoths there? And where were those things living, according to them? If there was no polar-zone, why would they need all that fur and fat?

i know this has been mentioned before, but i'd like to bring that question to the front again.

not only from a jw's perspective, but also from all other christians.. who lied to man and woman in the eden story?.

But is he in opposition? When you read that passage with nothing else in mind, as if it were a new story. You can't help but feel that the Serpent doesn't look like a mean or deceiving character, but more like one who is trying to help the humans out. And God actually looks like he is pissed that the Serpent told them the truth and ruined his little game of submission....

Paris, France not Hilton

i am planning a european vacation, can anyone recommend a hotel in paris, that is close to cdg airport, doesn't have to be all that nice but safe, clean and cheap.

But I just have to say....What has the world come to, when someone needs to say they are talking about the actual location in France when they mention Paris. Ugh!!

My friend was "announced" last night!

my friend marion, who i've posted about on here, was announced at last nights meeting as being no longer one of jehovahs witnesses.

she sent a da letter in recently, and of course the elders tried to get her to change her mind, but she insisted, and threatened to forward a copy to the uk hq, so they made the announcement.. she had a phone call from her jw son just now, and not a pleasant one at that.

he asked her how she could be so stupid, and told her that this was the last call of any kind he would be making to her, and she won't be allowed to see her grandchildren again until she comes to her senses.

It's hard enough already to have your parents shun you....but I get the feeling it must be even harder when it's you're own children, the ones you took care of and loved all these years....

My thoughts are with Marion.

Also interesting is the fact that God says that the humans "became like one of us", insinuating that there are many gods? I guess the JWs would say he was talking to Jesus....

Hmmm...but lying by omission, isn't it just as bad? Isn't "God" guilty of it? Seems like both of them told a part of truth. And even then, like itsallgoodnow pointed out....God said they would die the same day. They did not....he could have said, you will eventually die, but he said on the very day.

Of course, I take this story as seriously as Sleeping Beauty, but I'd like to hear from those who beleive it is fact.

Who lied to man and woman in the Eden story?

Yahweh God says to men: 17 "Nevertheless of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat, for on the day you eat of it you shall most surely die."

Serpent says: "No! You will not die!
3:5 "God knows in fact that on the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil."

They eat the fruit....then Yahweh God says what?...."See, the man has become like one of us, with his knowledge of good and evil. He must not be allowed to stretch his hand out next and pick from the tree of life also, and eat some and live forever."

So, seems like the Serpent told only the truth to them....why is he called the great lier then?

I've got two tattoos, they're small and simple and don't show, and I got them for myself, mostly. They both mean something to me, and I designed them myself.

I have to admit that one reason to get one, is to know what it does, that little needle. I also think they can be very beautiful, when not overdone, and when you chose well. It's not something to do when you're drunk or on a whim.

Mysterious---It's funny you should mention that. I suppose it could be true that my extreme timidity was caused in part by not wanting to be noticed. I really hated to be different. Most of the time, I would have loved to be invisible. I was never small or petite for my age, pretty much normal.....but I met two guys recently who went to my highschool, and they looked very surprised to see me now. Said I had changed so much, that I seemed much taller. (And I haven't grown a lot since then). I guess I was trying to be a small as I could.

I also was attracted to paganism, while we're on the subject. Even when I was in, I had a strong fascination with Tarot, astrology, Deities, spirits of nature, rituals, stones, runes. It pissed me off that it was one other thing that I couldn't openly like. And I had much fun discovering it all when I got out. I'm still very into that.
