  A Christian question, but applies to all thinking Christian too!

  no longer being a christian, it has become a mind opening experience to look back and see certian things i once ignored or just brushed off.

  yet now i can not help but see these things and wonder why other christians do not.. if you have ever studied greek, roman or any other cultures religions in history.

  then you have no doubt read their legends, about gods and how things came to be, and no doubt you have enjoyed these and at the same time you must have wondered how people actually bought this enough to make it a religion.

  I think there is some evidence that Jesus really lived. I do not say gods son or other bla bla. I think that lot of the legends in the case of Jesus have some truth in them. Distorted because of time difference between the events and when it wsa put in writing.

  That somebody claimed to be a mesiah is not that strange. It still happens a lot of times in these days.

  There is a lot of similarity in stories in the bible. More with the babylonian text then with the greek actually. The babylonain text are older then the bible and can be a common source for both.

  It also seems that people create the same kind of stories independantly sometimes. People use to project human things on the gods. The big diffference in the bible is the use of a single almighty god. This is not so difficult to explain in a culture dominted with shepards of sheep.

  What Kinds of Jobs Do JWs Have That You Know Of?

  i was thinking that most jws that i personally know have jobs that they really aren't happy with.

  almost no one is a professional except for one cardiologist that got baptized a few years ago.

  there's no one that's been raised in the "truth" that has a college education that i know of except one 22 year old young man who has done nothing to seek employment since he graduated.........any witnesses that you know of with great jobs?

  Source of Flood Waters

  i do not have access right now to the watchtower cd library, could someone check and tell me what the watchotwer now says is the source for the great flood waters?.

  do they still believe the theory of isaac vail that the waters came from above and that there was a water canopy in orbit about the earth?

  or does the watchtower now say that the canopy was a vapor layer, not in orbit, but a simply above the atmosphere?.

  The just ignore it if the know they do not have some answers.
  I always thougth that the GB belived themselves what they sais. But why if something is critical no sounds. Nothing for years about the length of creation days also.

  I do agree that a lot of people are bitter here, but I think they have all rights to be bitter.

  Some have had terrible experiences. Why do you not look for the facts first please!

  For me the WTS has good sites but also dangerous sites. So, to here something else on this board can be a real eye-opener for many JW's. The problem is the WTS is not fair with the information they give and people are not allowed to think freely.

  i know it is most unlikely that any of them will even consider reading all of what i will send, but here's the plan:.

  i've got a list of all their addresses (that i kept from before).

  I will keep it very simple and short. I will not put it as a tread like 'do you know...' I do not think that works. I will put it as a question.

  Like. Dear brother, I have found on the internet at the official page of the UN that the WTS is part of UN bla bla bla... Is this really true. Why did they do this, as so many of us served in prison for our neutrality. Can you help expain this to me...

  genetically modified food isn;t better for you though! organic is the best surely.

  Crumpet, maybe it is not better, but probably just the same. Not better not worse for you.

  "The end is near" mentality - Pros/Cons

  i've been thinking about this for awhile now.

  we all know that everytime something bad happens in the world the dubs go "end time" crazy.. we all know that everytime something good happens in the world the dubs go "end time" crazy.. this law in england about door to door salesmen (whether it works out or not) may or may not affect the dubs.

  if it does they will see this as a direct attack and be sure that the end is near.

  . After a time, different for each dub, their frenzied activity really isn't all that frenzied. I believe this is one of the main causes of the slowdown in the industrialized nations. Along with the internet being there for them when the venture out from their hole and look for information

  I think you have a good point. What I saw in the cong. is that people get tired. Tired in the FS because the people couldn't care less. Here in europe this is going on for a long time already. When the work is difficult, people wil harden and become steadfast. Now, nobody cares too much and only think it is a bit rediculous. That is harder then presecution I think.

  But some just do not give up. I know some dubs who think every time there is lightning that armageddon has started...

  hey everyone - i have this anger, perhaps rage boiling within me, it has been for the past week since i was disassociated.

  my feelings of dislike are turning to bitterness & hate against this organisation.

  i learnt today that the elders have lied to my family.

  Hi LouBelle,

  I am very sorry to hear this. It seems that when you are not in, you are completely out. It is so sad.

  And that for elders who should be loving and caring for the sheep. It shows something.

  You can try to appeal the decission, but I do not know how succesfull it can be. And they will ask you a lot of questions.
