so where do you start?.
i've been reading peoples experiences for several months now trying to figure out what i want to say but how do you put your whole life into a few words?.
i was a born in but have been happy and free for 5 years and luckily for me my husband felt the same way and we have freed our children from being brainwashed.
just wondering if your name describes what you saw, how you were treated when you were "in" or now "out", maybe your personality, ect.... i'm label licker and the why i picked this name was because of all the licking up one side of elders and down the other to either be an elder or ministerial servant.
one time i was standing right in front of this brother who wasn't made an ms yet and he totally ignored me and talked right over my head speaking really loud trying to catch the co's attention.. got sick of watching the poor elderly sitting all alone or standing against the wall like a wall flower with noone to talk to and yet all these label lickers would take turns picking up the elders elderly parents and take them shopping and do their groceries at least four times a week while out in service, yet, there was noone there to take a meal to a sister who just got out of the hospital with a heart attack.
when i had shown up at her apartment with a meal she asked if i could wash her private and change her bandages.
I didn't choose mine. My parents did.
has anyone else recieved the letter from the gb about international conventions in 2014?
according to the letter the missionarys/order of full time servants desperately need to get to the conventions in their homeland.
so to accomplish this, jehovah needs 15 cents per publisher, per congregation for some months ( sorry i can't remember the exact length of time ).
Well let me take out my wallet and send them something!
my wife and i took the grand kids to a flea market in st. augustine, florida today 1/19.
after sucking down some hot dogs on a bright sunny cold day, i came across a jw booth set up with the latest mags and books, offering free bible studies.
i decided not to confront them, and spoil such a nice day, however, i will be forearmed with printed material if we go back again.. shalom.
I saw a similar booth at the San Jose airport a while back. I stopped by and asked them how they could prove to me that Jesus selected them in the spring of 1919 as the only true religion. They looked at each other, shrugged and then asked "where did you hear that?"
I told them I have an aunt in the movement and she told me.
The man and woman said "Well your aunt is obviously confused and is mistaken."
"So when was your organization picked by Jesus as the only true one?" I queried back.
Their reply was "Well it was a slow and carefully planned process that cannot be nailed to a specific time or date."
Since my flight was about to board I thanked them and said I would look into it further.
It is so amazing to me that JW's either do not know about 1919 or are too embarassed or unsure to explain it. It seems to me that such a selection by Jesus should a monumental date in the history of the Society and they should be well equipped to explain it. After all, it's not everyday that Jesus stops by and says "Well done slave!, I now appoint you over all my belongings."
Apparently the only belongings they received were 3 robe garments and 2 pairs of sandals.
once i was little boy in fort worth, texas living with my maw maw and paw paw and mommy.. then, i was an 18 year old 6'4'' skinny 165lb religious nut being dipped in a baptismal during a local assembly.. suddenly, i was 20 and listening to a jail cell door clang behind me as a conscientious objector.. wow!
23 years old and put on parole until my 6 years sentence was ended!
i got married to a nice jw girl and had 3 kids!.
Happy #66!!
Many I knew took up drinking after they joined.
were you a sought after associate?.
were you often invisible?.
did other witnesses view you as "exemplary"?.
I was a Ministerial Servant who was very active in helping set up and run the sound systems at the assemblies and conventions. I was also active in the "Quick Build" Kingdom Hall projects that happened within a 300 mile radius of DFW.
..... you to stop attending ?
injustices ?
disagree with the teachings ?
The last meeting I attended was in January of 1992. I took time off after that to peruse the local libraries and I came across "Crisis of Conscience" by Ray Franz and "Apocolypse Delayed" by James Fenton. After I finished those books, I knew I would never darken the floor of a Kingdom Hall again.

haha!
i asked a co-worker who is not familiar with jehovah's witnesses how would he define the term "annointed remnant.
he replied "isn't that was john bobbit was left with after lorena took a knife to him.
Desirous and Amelia, you are correct in that very few "outsiders" have any idea what the JW's believe other than the ones you mentioned. I have caused two fellow co-workers here to stop their studies after I gave them a brief history on the org and what they could expect in the future.
One lady said "You mean they will expect me to believe that God chose them as the only true Christians in 1919? They have never mentioned that." When she did later ask her study guide if that was the case, after a long dance and moonwalk, he admitted to it.
She replied "Well as of 2012 my brain has chosen me to end this study. Thank you and good evening."
