GB asks every JW to give Putin their home address

jw's around the globe have been encouraged to write letters to putin and the russian government.

they are expected to give their personal details on the envelope.

i appreciate that this might be normal when writing to your own government if they are tolerant, but is this not a bit strange that the gb want to give putin the address of every jw in the world?

Weird. As a ubm I would not be happy if my jw gave our address and any other info out to anybody. I don't think Putin will give a rats behind about the letters about jw's.

Though I often wonder why jw's at the door will not give me their address while they are visiting MY door and (later) writing down what I have to say. They won't even give out their names! Heck, they wouldn't even admit they were jw's when they used to come to our house. I would nearly have to browbeat it out of them, "are you jw's?!!!" Thankfully, my house must have big red x on it, stay away from that one! finally.

How do you find out which kh territory you're in?

these douche bags left a memorial invitation in my door today, after i have already told them point blank, "do not come to this property ever again," which was months after my trespassing letter.. how dumb can people possibly be?

is there such a thing as an iq below zero?.

so i want to send a 2nd letter with the tract ripped up inside, so i will have a 2nd receipt showing another attempt to get them to leave me alone.. how do i know which hall's territory i am in?

They don't get it do they? You may have to send multiple letters, say one a week or so for awhile? I like the letter you supplied in the link but you could send the cease & desist one at the link below but the address for the wt needs updating. I do know if you send it to NY it will eventually reach back to the elders in your area. Worked for me anyway.

Though I was making a stink with my jw so that probably helped. I also threatened to show up at the kh during a meeting with some paid muscle to protect me, go to the front with a blow up picture of our house and address and tell the whole damn cong that this house was a no call and then leave. Yep, that seemed to help too.

They are not the brightest bulb so it takes a bit for them to understand you don't want them on your property or their trash.

Me: He posts them through the letter box of not-homes though, so it doesnt count."----- is this true? is it the same for today? I thought they get to count anything they leave anywhere? what about leaving the rags in laundromats? do those 'count' as placing literature?

i just watched this lovely lady's heartfelt message to the governing body.

i hope that the men she named and all lurkers who have some clout at bethel listen to this message and stop this cruel and divisive shunning policy that has ruined so many family's around the world.

Are JW's Getting More Comfortable Discussing Politics?

just curious if anyone else has observed a more willingness by witnesses they know to openly discuss politics (out of the context of the "truth")?

i have noticed it within my own microcosms of jws i know.. have you observed this?.

i am sure with this last years political climate it's hard for anyone to resist chiming in.

My jw LOVES politics! until I remind him he is supposed to be neutral. Yeah, I know I should let him go but sometimes it is the only way to shut him about it.

"you are my witnesses says jehovah".. this is going to show you how poor my knowledge of the bible has been.. i thought there was a scripture that says the quoted phrase (at least in nwt).

i could swear that i heard it for years quoted in talks.. i went to find it this morning and found nothing of the sort.

am i an anomaly or do any of you remember this as well?.

I think we all know it is not an actual 'magazine' by any stretch of the imagination but the jw's think it is a magazine. You know how they like to redefine words to suit their needs. If you pointed it out to a jw that it is more of tract or pamphlet they would probably respond with something like, "you say tomatoe I say tomato".

I like stuckinarut2's word, 'tractazine'.
