I'm sorry for your loss.
The jw's left because the rest of the service was not officially jw? How could they just leave in the middle of it?
her funeral was at 1pm today.
they held it at a vfw hall where the service was upstairs and a meal downstairs.
we all brought dishes to pass, so much food!

alan'swife, julie, talked to the cardiologist this morning.
the news about alan's heart is good.
he described the heart attack as mild and said that although there is damage to the lower portion of his heart, the pumping action probably won't be affected much.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Note to Barb, if something like this happens in the future with someone we all know or is known in the ex jw community some hospitals have a thing where people can send get well wishes via the computer. You just find the patients name and write your message and someone delivers it daily to the patient. As long as the ex jw doesn't mind people knowing their real name it could work out just great!
so who's from wisconsin and the midwest usa.
count me in the midwesterners, they used to have some camp outs in WI and I think a Summerfest meet up one year. I missed it
no, we havent.
on the contrary, when we have discovered that our beliefs were not completely in line with the bible, we have changed our beliefs.. is this correct?.
gods name in greek scriptures?
Does a bear...oh, nevermind.
here is the situation.... a young 19 year old in our congo had a fallout with his parents because of all the restrictions and jw dogma and moved out of the house last wednesday.. to make the story short, the parents went running to the elders and what was the comfort?.
coe said: i saw that coming!
your son never reached out to get baptized.. then the other elder said: don't worry, you still have one left that will be saved.
I have heard of quite a few jw's who left after reading in their entirety either Romans or Galatians. In my limited experience in attempting to read a Bible with a jw they are not used to reading a book of the Bible from start to end, it may be a challenge. Best of luck. (how about comparing it to another Bible or even the wt's own KIT?)
i wondered how fast the wt publications used the word "soon"... as in expectation of some prophecy or fulfillment.... eight pages into the first watchtower... july 1879.... "our design has been to present to the body of christ, "the chaste virgin" church, which expects soon to go in to the marriage and become christ's bride, a selection of sacred songs especially adapted to her condition and expressive of her desires and hopes.".
the expectation?

I'm like Blacksheep, I used to use the word 'soon' simply to annoy my newly converted jw years ago. Sometimes he got it and most times he didn't. New converts are so gung-ho they rarely get out of cult mode. Now the word would not have as much meaning unless they are in high gear for the 'end' or perhaps with the annual reject Jesus memorial.

shana
It is very sad and I'm sure they will have a very long difficult recovery if they make it.
However, there is a sign posted and the yard appears to be completely enclosed with a chain link fence. Why do jw's think they have the right to barge forward? Common sense would show you that the home owners probably do not want uninvited guests.
My jw just the other day was bemoaning the fact someone got hurt but put the blame squarely on the victim because they put themself in a dangerous situation by being in a bad neighborhood. I'm sure he would not feel the same way about these jw women.
It is a shame these women felt they must go to every door no matter what to get their time in. I wish them well in their long road a head of them both physically and emotionally.
this sounds familiar-.
