I remember when i was a kid, my mom's oldest sister was threatened with DF'ing if she didn't clean up her house....we had to go over and help her...it was disgusting!!!! She had 5 kids who did NOTHING to help her either....

You can get disfellowshipped for a dirty house too!
by GrandmaJones ini was telling my sister that i downloaded a copy of the new "flock" book (don't worry, my sister doesn't bat an eye over my doing things like this) and she was asking me if there was anything "good" or "juicy" in it.
imagine her shock when i told her that members of the flock can be df'd for keeping an untidy house.. seriously, i think they were talking about hoarders.
that is even worse!!!!!!!!

Have You Taken the Xmas Stuff Down Yet?
by OnTheWayOut inat work, the lights and tree are still up.
they almost certainly will come down this week.. some people get their stuff up early to avoid harsher weather or because they had time right after thanksgiving.
but getting the stuff down is more difficult when the horrible january weather is upon us and the holiday time to get extra stuff done is passed.. my neighbors had elaborate xmas lights displays and most are gone, some are not.

Took ours down yesterday.....we were later this year with putting it up...so we enjoyed it a bit longer. It's bittersweet putting the decorations away for another year.

Pink Floyd - Your Favorite Songs from Them ? U-tubes welcome !
by flipper inpink floyd in my opinion really kind of fused orchestration with electric guitars in a heavy progressive way which blazed the trail for progressive groups i feel.
here are my all time favs from pink floyd and mr .

Pink Floyd is my ultimate, all time favorite band! They were incredibly talented...there really isn't a song that I dislike from any of their albums.

Well that's all good and wonderful for that young lad, but I can't help but wonder what will happen when he reaches puberty and wants to be a normal boy... Children shouldn't be baptised into the JW cult until they reach real maturity.. Jesus was 33 wasn't he, when he was baptised? and he was born a perfect man......

What's with JW's and X-mas lights?..........
by awildflower ini mean i remember growing up as a jw and then 15 baptized adults years, and every year all the jw's would say something to the effect, "lets go look at all the pretty lights", or they would tell their neighbors that they really liked their lights.
and i remember teaching my kids the same thing, that it's ok to look at the lights (but not ok to like anything else about x-mas, oh regrets!
) doesn't that seem weird or something?

That's strange...my mom always said, every year...."Wow, the world is sure going crazy with their Christmas decorations this year...it must mean that armageddon is ever close".
gag....

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MYELODYSPLASTIC SYNDROME?
by Mary ini just got some awful news.
my jw brother in law has been diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome.
needless to say, we are all extremely upset as it is a potentially life-threatening illness that can turn into leukemia.

Mary....you are all in my heart and in my thoughts....I will pray that all will be ok...I don't know why some families, more than others, seem to suffer such tragedies, ...it's not fair.
Knowing what your family has suffered over the years, it breaks my heart....we have to try to think in a positive way hun....I know it's so hard right now.

Is it naive to believe that you will always be faithful to your partner?
by nicolaou ini was told i was naive for saying that i'd never cheat - ever.
but i meant it honestly.
i guess my question is, can it happen to anyone?
-

It's not naive to believe that you want to always be faithful, but it is naive to think that you're immune from circumstances that could lead you to temptation...
Right on, Undercover.
