They surely talked about me. Did I care? NO!
In a book I read a great quote: "I stopped trying to impress people who don't impress me!" I have nothing to add.
did stories, exaggerations and fables turn up after you left the "faith"?

i love music, my taste in music is very eclectic, classical, opera,techno/trance,spanish, pop, metal, rock, musicals etc.............. when i am angry my taste turns dark and i listen to marilyn manson.. what do you listen to when you are angry?.
AC/DC - simple, groovy and loud.
i see that some people feel that jwd is a godsend.
they've learned so much in so short of time.....have you been helped by this site and other similar ones here on the internet?
So many things suddenly made sense. They've been right in my face all this time but I never understood them as I always tended to see them piece by piece. This site finally made me see the whole picture at once. Like a puzzle completed. And that has helped me a great deal to overcome the frustation (produced by all the unanswered questions) and let go.
Thanks!
a while back, there was a discussion about dfing and asking the elders to remove records of yourself ever having been a jw, publisher records, etc.
i responded that i didn?t believe there was a legal basis to force the records to be removed.
i can't find the thread and don't remember who started it....whoever you are, here's some interesting info for you!
Why can't I just "quit", no fanfare, no announcements, no "demonizing" of me... just let me leave. What the HELL, is this the theocratic Mafia? Why do I feel like a "theocratic hit" is gonna be put out on me if I "officially" quit?

Who said one has to play by their rules? We make our own ones and leave these folks breathless!
i didn't take much notice of it at the time, but i use to be apart of message board (jw one) and the webmaster provided a link to a web page.
i read it a little, and didn't take much notice of it at the time and thought it was corks.
but can anyone provide any links concerning this?
... but wouldn't it be great?
I remember John Lennon to "imagine" a planet without religions and I always liked that idea.
the following was sent to me just now in a forwarded email.
so much to pick apart.
i did not doctor this up in any way.
Isn't it strange that they talk about love all the time but hardly ever live love?
Isn't it strange that we allowed them to wast our precious time for so long?
Isn't it strange that leaving "god's org" generally makes people feel better?
i contend that we are both atheists, i just believe in one less god than you do.
when you understand why you dismiss all other possible gods, then you will know why i dismiss yours.

I love that one, it's up to the point!
i was searching in google for world war 3, and found these sites .
http://www.threeworldwars.com/forum/.
http://www.threeworldwars.com.
I believe WW III came closer since George W. Bush arrived in Washington because he's such a fanatic. Terror attacks and two wars in 4 years. What comes next? North Corea, Syria, Iran? I just remember him speaking of the "axe of evil".
what does that mean to you?
describe an example of "witness mentality".
do you believe in the bible just because you were raised to believe?
are you sure it's "believable"?
.....have you convinced yourself the bible is just another book?
IMO the bible no doubt contains a lot of interesting storys, some funny and some sad. As it is written by humans it also contains words of wisdom that every human can come up with if he takes a deep look inside himself. There is absolutely no proof it is written or inspired by anybody else than just humans. Therefore I consider it a guidebook like many other books I've read over the years that contain helpful advice but I would never use it as law I have to observe. No way!
Min,
I like such threads! You provoke and make people think by asking simple questions that contain explosives (as all the answers unveil). You're quite gifted in this.
