Watchtower will NOT accept legal responsibility

i posted this in another thread, but this comment from the watchtower deserves a thread of its own.

here is what the watchotwer wrote back in 1952 concerning legal liability and vaccinations.

i am sure they feel the same today, the watchtower will not assume legal liability for any misrepresentation it has made concerning blood transfusions.

I always dodged the Elders when they tried to get me to sign a No Blood Card- I know they suspected I was up to no good, but I got away with it. I later found out my wife had cards done for the kids when I was working out of town. I always told the Elders that when Orthodox Jews ban blood transfusions, then I will sign the card. They never had an answer for that. They could only disfellowship me if I publicly challenged the official teaching and I always kept it to myself- never even told my wife until I had decided to leave the borg- her first response was that I was an apostate- "games over".

Is there not some point at which we have to say the rank and files JW's must take a stand - Don't they see this as potential child sacrifice? I am wondering if the WT leaders are not purposely setting up this "Blood card " issue in order to get sued on purpose. Then they can drop the whole blodd transfusion charade and say" the courts made us change". No Cards and no official sanctions of members who accept blood transfusions. That way they can dodge moral accountability ( from JW's, not G-d) for the deaths of maybe thousands of JW's -adults and children. They hope that none of the active JW's will feel wronged and sue the Society over a family member's death. It is the possible moral outrage that they are afraid of- this is what will empty out the KH's.

if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?

I did a Google "news alert" for the word Watchtower at the beginning of the week. So far, no news sources have had any stories about the WTB&TS- nothing, nada, zip- good or bad. At present this BIG NEWS is only important to Ex-JW's. If lawyers get involved, then I am sure this will change.

What are you REALLY like?

do you pretend to be someone you are not?

i find it hard to know how to take people here sometimes, as words do not convey as much without seeing the facial expressions and hearing the tonal inflections.

I took a psych test once- in eight categories of personality I scored a level evenly spaced line between paranoia and schizophrenia- is that normal or what? Also, I'm pretty smart- I was the 1st kid in the 6th grade to get his drivers license.

What is a Born Again Christian??

no, i am not a born again....just wanted to get some idea of what their belief is as i have always heard of them.

do they believe in "hellfire"

20 years ago I was a JW, 15 yrs ago I was a Southern Baptist, 14 years ago I was a Pentecostal, 10 years ago I was not a professing Christian. and 5 years ago I converted to Judaism.

What Happened? After leaving JW's I took the safe route and returned to my Christian upbringing. If an emotional experience qualifies you to be born again, well I believed it. My second wife and her church family convinced me that Pentacostalism was the "way to go". And then one day I asked a question that didn't have an answer, then I found another one and the more I looked the more I questioned the veracity of my beliefs.It was a painful process to go back to the begining and analyze the Bible and Christianity. Finally after several years of study ,one day I realized that try as I might the old feeling was gone. I tried going back to church with some friends- Songs like "victory in Jesus" stirred no emotion in my heart. The dream was over. A rational mind and Christianity don't mix in my view.

Christianity might work for some, but it doesn't work for me. I am glad we have Christians in this world , as they give back a lot. For me, I just chose a different belief system. In the end ,if we have to face a supreme G-d, then I will know that whatever happens I can say I have been true to myself.

Are the JW's persecuted in any way?

I'm not an Orthodox Jew, but if you lived in Israel it ,then being a born again Christian and speaking in tongues might put you in the "not normal category", too. Just depends where you live as to what is considered normal.

Jehovah's Witnesses--- Persecuted they are ,for being just plain rude, indifferent and unfriendly and CHEAP!

When I was a JW I only worked about six months a year ( construction) ,as I was always among the first to get laidoff and sent back to the Union hiring hall. I always felt the guys were just jealous of my ability. Ha! Later after I quit being a JW, I realized what a jerk I was to work with. Jehovah this, Jehovah that, read my Watchtower, don't vote , don't give blood, don't ask me for money for the boss's Xmas gift, don't ask me for money for one of the guys sick kids- the new order will fix it,etc. Xmas is a pagan holiday- rub it in to them every chance you get. Birthday party for someone-forget it- retirement party ?Nope!- I have to go to the meeting tonight ( besides I wouldn't waste my money on a gift for a wordly person anyway) Golf,fishing, hunting,sports,drink after work ?-are you kidding ,I wouldn't spend time with a wordly person.

Now if that fits you, Mr or Mrs JW, don't be surprised if the people you work with wish you would find another job.

Yes, they are persecuted more, but it's only because they wear that big "Kick Me" sign pinned to their butt.

i have been a jw all my life, my sister and i are now in our late twenties and are so unhappy and after desparate attempts to keep up meeting attendance are not spiritually motivated.

we in last few weeks have found some very disturbing things in our search such as the un involvement.

after research on these things and use of the wt library the society speaks for it's self on these issues calling the un the "disgusting thing" that the book of daniel spoke about(wt 85' para.

I went through the same turmoil back in 1987. I read ray Franz's book and visited him several times at his home near Atlanta. In 1988 I annulled my membership due to fraud on the part of the WTB&TS..My conclusion about the one true religion is this- It doesn't exist. I know that goes against all you have been taught. Many ex-JW's have become orthodox Christians, some are members of other religious faiths, some are agnostics and the last group are athiests- until G-d shows them otherwise.

If you are unhappy in the KH, then follow your inner spirit and ask why you feel depressed. Your subconscious is telling you to get out and if you persist in staying in the KH your mental and physical health will pay for it. There is nothing wrong with you! This forum has many wonderful people who can answer your questions or point you to reference material that will.

Are JW's too paralyzed to leave?

i was contemplating how bad the news will have to be to get the jw's to quit the organization.

then i remembered hurricane katrina and all the people trapped in the superdome for days on end.

one guy acted on his own and stole a school bus to rescue a group and take them to houston.

One guy acted on his own and stole a school bus to rescue a group and take them to Houston. The rest just stayed put and waited and waited without food or water for someone to rescue them. I don't think the JW's are able to make an independant decison to "escape the sinking ship" - Only a few escaped the Jonestown massacre,too. I hope I am wrong on this one.
