to those who have conscientiously walked away:.
what changes will at least make you consider coming back in?.
of course some will say nothing they do will lure them back?

here is another paradox resulting from the wts stand on the flood:
1. jws seriously believe in 2370 bc as the date of the flood
2. they also believe that by the 1st century ad racial differences had been well developed (i mean differences in the outward appearance of course, and not their early racist views for instance).
Personally, I believe in an extremely ancient universe and earth, and in Theistic evolution.

we stayed at a door talking bad about the householder and they were listening for 5 minutes.
what's that scripture?
about a birdie and a king??
My longest was about 3 or 4 hours. We knocked at the door and this Little Person opened the door. He was Marion Wood, one of the Munchkins in the 1939 movie THE WIZARD OF OZ. Now, being tiny and quite old, he had breasts, so his gender never came up until the very end of the conversation, when my co-witness asked Marion, "So Marion, is it MISS Wood? Or MRS. Wood? And Marion replied, "Uh, it's mister." My companion and I both almost died of embarassment. I wanted to melt into the sidewalk, I was so embarassed. But during the entire conversation, we never touched on doctrine at all. Strange! Love, Jaypeeto
going back to a kingdom hall?.
recently i've had a couple of visits from jws while i was at work.
each time they left a message that the co was going to be visiting this week and that it would be good if i went to the meeting.. i was really surprised at the strong reaction i had to the thought of going to a meeting again.
I wouldn't set foot in a Kingdom Hall again if you promised me $25 Billion dollars AFTER taxes. I have no desire to be around that two-faced cult whatsoever. Best, Jaypeeto
i was raised roman catholic but stopped going about 25 years ago.
i was talking with someone i work with who is a jw and suggested i might look into it.
so here i am.............
Coming here for opinions on becoming a JW is like asking for good references on a person from an ex-spouse. Get it?!
........Trouble is, DoubtfullyYours, is that folks who go to the "official" Watchtower site will receive nothing but a sanitized history of the Watchtower and a blatantly erroneous discussion of some of Christendom's doctrines, most especially their outrageously slip-shod research on the development of the doctrine of the Trinity. Best, Jaypeeto
.
i am pretty sure this is what i am.
i would love to chat with anyone else who might want to sort some stuff out with me.. many thanks!.
I can't speak for the other Christians on this forum, but being a born-again Christian, I don't feel like anyone has been playing mind games on me. Best, Jaypeeto

Hi Mark Anthony! Welcome to the board!!!!!
I'm an ex-Witness who converted TO Catholicism after years of prayer, bible study, and historical research. If you're interested, www.catholic.com (Catholic Answers) has some good articles on Jehovah's Witnesses. I'd also recommend you study the New Testament BY ITSELF, reading it slowly and prayerfully, asking the Lord to give you the insight He wants you to have. And I recommend that you read the writings of the Early Church fathers (those who lived many, many years before Constantine supposedly "invented" apostate Christendom) and see for yourself what the early Christians actually believed. Also, though it's not directly related to Jehovah's Witnesses, I strongly recommend that you go to www.amazon.com and order a copy of CATHOLICISM AND FUNDAMENTALISM by Karl Keating, *****before****** you get involved with the JWs. May the Lord bless and lead you on your spiritual journey. Warm regards, Jaypeeto

straight away told im not ready for baptism, not with the amount and depth of questions, that ive been warned about these sites and that apostates will do anything to knock jws.
proving its the true religion bec the bible says it will happen (shows me scriptures).
also told it doesnt happen with any other religious group - usually people just quietly leave and make no fuss - further proof that ths is the true religion.. i asked about all the dates where predictions were made, eg 1914, 1975. was told there were some articles loosly talking the 'possibility' of something happening, but the wt never said it definitely would - how could it, these are just ordinary men, not profits.
Hi Holly, I'm sorry this thing has you feeling down. But seriously, you have dodged a bullet by seeing the errors of Watchtowerism BEFORE getting baptized. All the folks on this forum are telling you the truth: you would be treated like dirt by the whole congregation if you asked these questions after baptism. You really dodged a bullet here. I'd suggest you continue and deepen your prayer life, continue studying the scriptures (not from the New World misTranslation) prayerfully, ask God to show you what he wants you to know and to do, and immunize yourself against future cults who claim to be the "revival" of early Christianity by reading the writings of the Early Church fathers to see what the early Christians actually believed. I recommend the book THE ANTE-NICENE FATHERS published by Eerdmans publishing company. I'm sure amazon.com carries it. These were the Christians who lived way before "wicked ol' King Constantine" was even born, when it was ILLEGAL to be a Christian. May God bless and lead you in your journey. Love, Jaypeeto
i'm just new to this internet stuff and am studying with the jehovah's witnesses at present.please don't take my lack of knowledge as cheek.
i just want to know if it's meant to be only jehovah's witnesses using this site.
i fully intend to become baptised but was wondering if there's any security to prevent people who shouldn't be using the site and are maybe abusing it from doing so.
I can see that some people would rather believe the WTS than the scriptures when it comes to who Jesus is the mediator for. All I can say is that when I was a JW, I was clearly and directly taught at the meetings that Jesus is the mediator ONLY for the 144,000, and that we "great crowd" members would only benefit indirectly from his ransom sacrifice, and ONLY thru the applying of the merits of that sacrifice to us by and through the 144,000. That's what I was taught by the JWs. For YEARS.
