An Elder Told Me.... Many To Be Disfellowshipped Soon...
by Doubtfully Yours inan elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.
he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.
i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

Several people have posted that they have the special connections with people who are connected inside NY Bethel....fish around for some kind of program for the Elder's school later in the year?! Perhaps we can still get the inside information...forewarned/forearmed?? Just a thought.

This has been an interesting discussion so far. Has anyone gone back and read the paragraph on disassocation in the now old OM book? It reads almost word for word as the new on except for the small section related to the announcement, which is also nearly the same except for the quotation marks saying exactly what has to be announced.

Neo-Babylonian Chronology and the Egibi Business House
by VM44 ini am somewhat shocked right now, although i know i probably should not be, i will explain in this post later.. .
all this information is contained in carl olof jonsson's excellent book, the gentile times reconsidered, 4th edition, pages 122-125.. .
it turns out that throughout the neo-babylonian time frame, a business firm named the sons of egibi conducted business, and left some three or four thousand record tables contained in earthen jars covered with bitumen.. .

I guess that the second adventists that CT Russell "borrowed" his chronology from were not up to date....

We found a couple of articles dont turn up when you search certain topics...i.e w74 8/1 article of the treating of disfellowshipped people. [wonder why] Another topic was to do with letting your animals eat unbled other animals like cat/birds and giving your animals blood transfusions. There was a Q from R in the 50's that said it is taboo... It is a wonder the CD isn't available somewhere with Peer to Peer....might try winmx...

We had this visiting guy [not a c/o] come to the meetings, he was from another city. He had been faded for many years, but was making a huge come back. Well his literature bag was stacked with them and he was offering them like they were the greatest thing since sliced bread! Perhaps he had bought them years ago, and with price rises etc he was making a killing?

Who owns the Kingdom Halls?
by No Apologies inon another thread ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/86931/2.ashx ) i saw these comments:.
think again, the kingdom halls are paid for by the local witnesses, and when its paid off, its donated back to the wt society, what an elaborate scheme!!!
when the construction is finished the congo finally has it's own kh, right?

I understand that in Australia, there exist in each state a trust of JW's that holds ownership of all the Kingdom Halls. The titles or deeds are all sent to the Bethel's Legal Department in Sydney and kept on their file.
If the local congregation wants to sell the KH and then upgrade their hall, they need the permision from Bethel, then The RBC, and obviously the trust need to sign off on the deal too.
Now though with greater financial powers going to the RBC, if they were to sell the old hall at a profit, they might be "encouraged" [forced] to donate that profit to another project instead of being able to sit back with some cash in the bank for a rainy day.
So really, the locals build and pay for the KH. They willingly/begrudgingly hand the Hall over to the trust, who sned the deed home to where it belongs!!
Note though that due to their Goods and Services Taxation system the loans are "interst free" and why shouldn't they be, it is all donated money and lets face it, the WTS get a free KH.
It is a wonder they dont borrow money against the equity in all that property and do some very heavy duty investing....say cigarettes, alcohol, armaments... ;-) -

GB Member says:"In a short time, we are humming them, just as Satan wants." Satan says: "Hey wait a minute, I have enough sh**t to deal with right now, with you know walking around roaring like a lion and stuff, I dont have time to get people to hum Christmas songs, why do I always get the blame?"

Kingdom Halls are signed over to a trust of "mature" men, who "hold" them for the society. The title deed is help at Bethel in whatever country we are talking about. A "friend" who lives in Australia said that there they stopped getting charged interest about 5 or 6 years ago.
