  told me that she had sent me a package of candies and cookies.

  i got one of the packages today.

  it consist of two small boxes, one with a red bucket of candy with a red heart on the front with a caption that says "wishing you a happy valentine's day!

  I understand why my mother does it. She was an only child and wanted 4 kids which she got. None of us are jws but my mother isnt the kind of person to just let her kids go. She has told me often that even if I had gotten baptised and fallen away that she would not forsake me, though at times I have wished that she would. Currently I am the only one of my siblings to have kids, which my parents adore, and my sister is due to have her first child in July. So I'm not really complaining about the gifts, it just amazes me that she sends the kind of gifts that she does. Oh and I do appreciated that she does this and more out of love.

Also on the front of the package it says "Happy Valentines Day from Love Grandma". My mother diehard jw that she is cracks me up. She believes that the jws have "the turth" but she's always sending me stuff like this. Can you say conflict in the brain?

  Once a liar always a liar. It would take a miracle for me to walk back into that crap (for want of another word). It's because of the history of the society (then and today) and the terrible policies that protect the perp instead of the victim that i would never ever consider going back. And even if they did change and became more mainstream the damage is already done and I will never go back.

  TODAYS TALKS WAS BORING AS HELL..........

  i actually went to the meeting this morning (okay, sumeone talked me into going)...........god it was boring.......something about jesus and the kingdom and frigging deuteronomy and hebrews and jeremiah-was-a-bullfrog...........and then they talked about old faithful: mathew 28:19 20 "go therefore and piss everyone off selling btochtower and asleep magazines to all the inhabitents of the earth.

  an' look: i am with you every frigging saturday morning till the government bans your sorry asses.

  i escaped after the first meeting and met the stares of several good christians wanting to know why i was leaving half way through......i told the asshole elder who followed me outside: " i've got my period!!

  That's another reason why I would never take my kids to a kingdom hall. I have 4 kids from the age of 10 to 18 months, my hubby doesnt go to any sort of religious service so when I go to church it's just me and the kids and I thank god that the church I go to has rooms and classes and things for my kids to do. I would drive me batty to try and sit quietly with 4 young childern and lord help any person who would dare to chastise me for my kids acting normal.

  How do you answer when the witnesses call at your door?

  the last time the jws came to my door I didnt say much of anything to them. I was holding my infant son and the women (2 of them) cooed at the baby and said they didnt want to expose him to the cold. they gave me 2 mags (a watchtower and an awake - one of them had a coffee ring on the back) and said goodbye. then i watched them from my back patio window as they went to other doors. that was over a year ago the next time the jws stop by I dont think I will say much to them other than "no thank you".

  ok ... to me it's not totally related to jw life actually, i'm here because i'm used now to chat with people (you know like you go into a cafe and share wathever you want with whoever as this board is very rich and full for immediat interaction), support them, get some support ... i just like that ... also of course it's very interesting at the same time to follow some news and get information that i might spit back to my familly in time to wake them up .... what about you ?

  I'm here cuz it just tickles me pink (quite a stretch nice i'm a nice mocha brown) that there are all these xjws out there just living life and doing good and debunking the crap that the society says about US!.

  Has anyone got anything positive from being a JW?

  i hear and read alot about peoples experiences and some are pretty horrendous....does anyone actually feel they have benefited from being a jw at least in one way or another...me personally i feel i benefited from the ministry school as public speaking is part of my job and has definately improved career prospects?.

  i had the nights out on the beer with my "worldly" and sometimes witness mates having trouble turning them down.......i think that was probably my fall.

  i could never resist a night out on the raz, trouble is they just happened night after night after night....etc.. beer beer beer.... .

  "i had the most trouble refusing to abstain from drunken nights".

  not to go the fashion design school and have a career instead of joining my parents house cleaning company , not to have a normal dating life, not to have great sex, not to marry the man I love who happened to not a jw.

  Can You Spot A Jehovah's Witness???

  My hubby thinks it's amazing that I can spot a JW from a distance. I knew that guy how gave my kids that crappy bible story book was a jw before he even pulled the book out but I wasnt quite sure. I should always trust my instincts.
