  He came in the truth...

  He made the truth is own...

  He shared the truth....

  He was baptized in the truth...

  He married in the truth...

  She was in the truth...

  They were in the truth...

  But their hearts was not ... in the truth...

  They left the truth...

  At least we have the truth....

  Ask the average JW what is the "truth" and watch their face as they mumble something about the bible or Jehovah's teaching.Then calmly tell them : The "truth" is the current teachings of the watchtower bible and trap society.

  Hi,Sorry to hear your relationship is breaking up.

  I am trying to fade but my wife is stubbornly clinging to this religion that does not make her happy.She often talks about leaving and how depressed she is because I don't want the "truth".As sad as it feels,maybe it's the best thing for you right now.Hang in there.

  Hey! I enjoyed your story Brooke.Actually I enjoy all witness stories,I try to put myself in the person's shoes to see what they went through.I find it sad how many people are affected emotionally and are still screwed up years later as adults.

  Dub at work said that the Knowledge book was too difficult for new ones

  to understand so that's why the wts published the new book being released at this year's district conventions.. the new book gets "straight to the point".

  according to her "and many others", the knowledge book was too difficult for those just beginning a bible study.

  The new book has a chapter entitled "Are we living in the last days" which lists a few signs,basically what was in the live forever book.The appendix has a 2 page section on 1914-A significant year in bible prophecy.I'm telling you,don't expect too much from this book,I won't be reading it.It'll end up on a shelf with all the others.

  I think the FDS or is it the GB,whichever,are afraid to come out with too much new light because they know people are on to their games so it's just easier to stick with the tried and true.I doubt very seriously that there is anything new in this book and I still don't know why they published it.

  i hear these random, dogmatic numbers all the time.... noah preached for 70, 90, or now it's 120 years.... noah worked 40, no 70 years on his ark.... even as a dub i wondered where these wacky numbers come from... says who?.

  help me out please and give me examples that you've noticed of unverifiable numbers!.

  Well when I looked at the new book I couldn't believe it.It's the 4th edition of the original blue "truth" book.Then came the "live forever" bookand a revised version,then the "knowledge" book,now this re-hashed,same 'ol shit in a somewhat different format.

  I remember when the Knowledge book came out(way back in '95,long,long time ago) they said that after studying this book within 6 months,a person would have enough knowledge to decide whether they wanted to be baptised.Funny how many forget that and go oooh-aaah when the WTS gives them the same proper food at the same proper time since 1968.

  Read any good books lately?

  so, i will be down and out for awhile after a little surgery this week and i am trying to get a few books to keep myself amused and i am looking for suggestions on something you may have read recently and enjoyed.

  i prefer non-fiction, but will consider reading anything highly recommended, as long as it contains at least a spark of truth.

  well, i will recommend a book to you alla few days ago, i finished reading into the wild by jon krakauera biographical story about a young man who, after graduating college, got rid of all of his belongings and hitch-hiked across the country in search of jack london-esque adventures.

  hey,.

  my partner in life (26yrs) has been converted to jw by his mother.. i am not one to whine -as very aware many have more troubles in their life.. i suppose one of my fears has been this exactly- as i know he was raised jw and should have saw the "signs.

  " he always regularly visited with his mom, which i respected as felt a good sign he had a mother/son relationship.

  Hi Freefly,

  Welcome! Looks like you've got a good battle on your hands.I would recommend that you get the book Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz.It explains a lot of the inner workings of the WTS as well as many of their false doctrines plus it's written in a clear,easy way to read well thought out and many points to make a person reason with his mind.

  As for myself,I don't want to have anything to do with the religion anymore but my wife wants to remain loyal no matter what.It's a tough situation here too but I'm not giving up.

  I was there sunday and watched the drama.(left right after).The brother who gave the talk just before the drama and basically explaining it works for a very large mining company who will be around for a very long time.He will also be getting a very good pension long before he is 60 years old.And here he is telling the 18-20 year old crowd not to do like him but to go pionneer and how happy they'll be!!!! I thought what a crock and what hypocrisy.

  Another thing I hate is how they equate earning a decent salary with unhappiness and all sorts of tribulations.What stupid reasoning!
