Officially Out

i have finally sent my official disassociation letter to the local kh.

now i no longer have to keep watch for a car pulling up in front of my house on saturdays.

im free, im free.

a card came yesterday...

i hadn't heard from my parents since last summer after 2 fiery letters and me da'ing myself.

they even mentioned to my df'd sis how i "went apostate".

I'ts possible that they truly miss and want to see you again but the watchtower mentality is still too strong for them to let go of their pride and admit how stupid they were to put the cult ahead of their child.

If you really love your parents and miss them don't completely write them off,there's always hope.Just prove to them you're not a complete freak loser apostate(jw mentality here).It's the best thing you can do to show them you're still normal and happy and you don't need the WTS.

after all these years of going to meetings, what did the average jw learn?

1. god's name is probably jehovah or yahweh .

I learned that "everything is vanity and striving after the wind" except for that service report.Your whole christian being and standing revolves around that,not how much love you show,how much bible study you do,how diligent a worker you are,how good a parent/spouse you might be,how much charity work you do.......your whole christian life hinges on that MONTHLY REPORT.

I also learned that jw's do not have the "truth",no doubt in my mind.

Update on my disassociation

i went to the kingdom hall for the very last time.

i went in the door in my guns n roses t-shirt and ripped up lucky jeans, new earrings and goatee.

i went up to the po of the congregation and told him i needed to talk to him.

I just read your DA letter.I always wondered why anyone would want to write one of those...now I understand.

Way to man.And I had to laugh at how you were dressed,they must've been happy you didn't stay for the whole meeting.

Millions Now Living..., Way to Paradise; any way to find copies/prints?

i have recently been blessed with my wife (currently df'd jw) starting to look into some things, and she's read the book "questions for jehovah's witnesses" by the cetners.

she still feels she needs to see something she feels is more reliable for dates such as the 1925 patriarchs, etc, and when i was doing research, i noticed the best quotes to show seem to be from books such as the millions now living will never die and the way to paradise, but they're really old, and i couldn't find any available on e-bay or as reprints on cds on my search.

does anybody know a way to get ahold of these books?

Things you find out when you go to a meeting...

i went to a meeting today.

i found it very long.

i talked to a brother that went to a meeting in the morning in his congregation, and decided to go to our meeting this afternoon also..... i talked to an elder who had a depression.

Went to the memorial the other night.One brother asked me how many years before I retire.I said at least 20.Nobody ever talks to me about spiritual things and yes it seems like nobody really feels that armageddon is "just around the corner".It's just another slogan now.

we had two congregations meet and the hall still wasn't full!

i noticed a change in the talk from last year.

I went for the wife also.By the sounds of it those of you here who went listened more than I did.

Anyways,he mentioned the Judas thing here too(I"m gonna do some research on it),then he used 1cor 11:24-25 like he did last year,and again this year he didn't read verse 26..."until he arrives."

Hope this is the last time I have to go.And yes,the attendance was much lower than years past.

An Elder Told Me.... Many To Be Disfellowshipped Soon...

an elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.

he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.

i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

This is very interesting.Could it be he was making it up to scare people back?

If it's true I'll have to bring my wife to the nuthouse,she'll be so racked with guilt and shame for "not doing what she knows shw should be doing".

My feeling is if this is true and they plan on df'ing all us inactive ones,it will literally shake the foundation of the WTS and bring its downfall rather quickly.
