Of course the CO's & DO's are $$$ burdens.
Also special pioneers like my brother & sis in law are $$$$ burdens.
Since my sister in law is a sister in the org. all she does is field service.
Following Paul's example my a$$.
i hope i do not repeat thread.
paragraph 15, w2011 6/15 p. 23 states:.
paul set a fine example for christian elders.

Also special pioneers like my brother & sis in law are $$$$ burdens.
Since my sister in law is a sister in the org. all she does is field service.

this morning on my way to the office i decided to stop at the gas station to get some coffee.... as i am pulling into the parking space i see this woman w a haircut from the 80's the typical below the knee skirt and long sleeve shirt (is a 105 degrees over here in the shadow).... i immediatly knew she was a jw... she had the latest wt in her hands..... she skipped me and approached a group of young mexican laborers that were resting in the back of a truck... but... as soon as i walked out of the gas station... guess who was waiting for me???
the jw!!!
she wanted to do a presentation.. i looked at her and w/o saying a word i started laughing so hard the guys in the truck started laughing as well... she just looked at me and still kept trying to push her literatrash!!
Why ASSUME she was humiliated?????
Most JW's get an ego boost when they get their persecution complex stroked.
"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.
If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own.
Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world,
on this account the world hates you."
(John 15:18, 19; see also 1 Peter 4:3, 4.)
"You will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name." (Mark 13:13)
I'm thinking she probably felt self righteous after all that.
Her experience will probably get used in a part at the meeting. lol

I enjoyed your story.
Why do some of the other posters assume she was humiliated?
But then I'm just assuming they did not speak with her after the experience.
IMO laugh at them all you want !!!
obviously 607 is a problem, watchower coming out full forces on this one in the latest public edition.. http://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/wp_e_20111001.pdf.
I think this will actually backfire on the Watchtower.
When I was in the Watchtower, I didn't even know there was an issue with the 607 date.
When I realized everyone else on the planet said 587, I started researching and the rest is history.
Thanks Watchtower !
so, i'm new to the site lurked around for a week or so now before signing up.
i'll try to keep this first post short.
just looking to make some connections with others that have been thru similar life experiences and help out anyone that feels empty and alone after leaving the "organization".
It took me about 10 years to untanlge the Watchtower from my brain.
But I did it... f you Watchtower!!
check it out, i played with the band today (all brothers) at the hilton resort by the pool, nice gig but the mother of a 12 year old came up and asked us to sing happy b-day to him, wow very awkward the brother she approached said 'why don't you sing it to him" and shoved the microphone in her face, she refused about 4 or 5 times and was very frustrated we would not sing as this is a really common request of bands.
she was really put on the spot, so she did it and we just stood there, thank god the crowd joined in singing.
when it was over the brother turned to one of the band members and said we should remember to bring the b-day music on mp3 to play when this happens.
It is extremely stupid.
God forbid that parents want to celebrate the birth of their child.
Think about it.
anyone from the uk remember the assemblies at twickenham?
cytrstal place?
gillingham?.
Veteran's Stadium Philadelphia was a literal HELL HOLE.
The place was like a solar cooker. Did enjoy when our convention proceedings were interrupted by the Live Aid concert in 1985.
I remember that concert. It made for even more horrendous parking.
Of course the dubs loved the comparison of the rowdy concert to the clean orderly assembly.
No matter how hot it was, you had to wear a tie.
Vet stadium what a hot, sweaty waste of time !!
this weekend watchtower study at the kh had included a picture on page 31 (watchtower march 15).. on the picture a sister is speaking / testify at a court.. at the wall of the court chamber, there are 2 pictures of imaginal political leaders.. am i wrong, do i see a joke of the wts graphic department?
because they are very similar to 2 governing body members.. fun ?!
?.
The country this took place in has a super fast judicial system.
Field service at say about 10:00.
Police ride to court house at say about 11:00.
Lunch 12:00.
In front of the Judge 1:00.
Back home changed out of meeting clothes to tell others about it.
What a day !!!!!!!!!
Shame on her for harrassing that elderly woman to the point where she felt compelled to call the police.
Although his word is absolute among the more than 500,000 ..... he objects to being called their leader.
Yeah, makes perfect sense to me
"To me titles mean nothing" he laughed "It doesn't matter whether I'm called Judge or jackass."This is amazing. We can call him jackass Rutherford or Judge Rutherford. Remember this when commenting at the hall.
Rutherford explained Jehovah Wiitnesses could be called neither a sect, cult, church nor organization. LOL
Organization is improper because our work is an individual mission...
Does the GB know about this?
The jackass was really a close footstep follower of Jesus. Remember those 12 apostles? They were really Jesus's body guards.
Great article!
loved this article in australia.

Throughout history, movements like these have sprung up, especially in times of war or economic and political instability.
"When you think your world is going to hell in a handbasket, it's comforting to say, 'The world is bad, but God will take me out of this,'" says Doug Weaver, an associate professor of religion at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, who teaches the history of Christianity.
To that end, apocalyptic movements have surfaced in almost every era of chaos: following the Great Fire of London in 1666, for example, or during the U.S. Civil War in the 1860s.
The outbreak of World War I unleashed a torrent of end-of-the-world predictions: Charles Taze Russell, founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, predicted the second coming of Christ would occur in 1914, which he said would mark the end of time for nonbelievers.
