I sold my set of bound volumes to a JW for $150. He must have found them helpful as he made elder the following year.
Why burn the bound volumes when you can sell them and recoup some of your original investment.
my town will no longer collect old books like that as trash and they're pretty hard to burn.
my solution has been to include one in every bag of used cat litter when i clean the cat boxes.
i've gotten rid of around 30 that way and i'm about halfway there.

nathan knorr in high school.
today i uploaded a short article onto my blog showing nathan knorr in his high school days.
since nothing associated with watchtower would be complete with some prophecy, my article contains the 1923 high school prophecy for knorrie.
Interesting find, Marvin. Hopefully you will dig up more information about this Watchtower mogul.
I sent you a PM that you may also find interesting.
election year is approaching.
are we ready for the political campaigns?
for those who vote, does it really matter whether we vote democrat or republican?.
Probably not. My dad always said that we have the best politicians money can buy.
i came across a website that presents decent argumentation against three main areas of jw doctrine.. http://jwreform.org/index.html.
who do these people think they are?
do they really believe that the wts will sit up and take notice of their objections?
The JW GB may reform the Organization if there is pressure from the outside. If the governments threaten to confiscate Watchtower property and tax the hell out of Watchtower income because JWs are denied basic human rights, the GB would suddenly get New Light. If the governmental agencies enforce their demands, the materialistic GB will reform the JW Organization to protect their assets.
But to date all JW reform movements that worked from the inside have failed.
Regarding governmental interference in Watchtower politics, what if the U.S. Government were to arrest the GB and all top Watchtower officials, does the Borg have a contingency plan? Do they have an order of succession for the GB membership during emergencies?
hello folks,.
i feel like a fish who has been struggling for oxygen so long he's almost dead.
time to grow some legs and get the hell out of hell.
Welcome, DTW.
Interesting that you mention Sam Herd as a possible progressive GB member. Being the only Afro-American member, brother Herd may have more power on the GB than he realizes. If he took a strong stand for reforming the blood doctrine, I doubt the reactionary lilly white GB members could remove him as easily as they did Ray Franz without creating bad publicity for the Watchtower inside and outside the Organization.
its been a while since ive been on how is everyone doing?
but just curious after you left jehovahs witnesses did you look into other religions?
or are any of you currently involved in any other religions now?.
I attended Unitarian services for a while after I left the JWs. The sermons were informative, more like a college lecture. The people were friendly and interesting to talk to. But I found Episcopal services did more for my spirituality so in 1991 I was received into the Episcopal Church.
The nice thing about being out of the JW religion is that one is free to make their own choice regarding religion or no religion.
i faded and when witnesses realized i had abandoned the faith, they were shocked!
no one would've ever believed that i would've left!
no one!!
Ten years into my fade I bumped into an old JW friend who I hadn't seen in 20 years. We were both shopping at Costco and he asked me how I was doing and I said fine. Then he asked if I still attended the South Congregation. I said no, that I was and Episcopalian and attended St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. When he heard that, the guy acted like he swallowed his tongue and was choking on it. Then he excused himself and quickly fled the scene.
Interestingly the year before I met my old Latin Teacher from High School. I had witnessed to him a number of times when I was one of his students so he knew me to be a JW. When I told him that I had left the JWs and became an Episcopalian, he said: "I'm not surprised. I always felt you were too smart to stay in that religion."
In my experience it seems that the JWs were shocked and the so called worldly folks weren't surprised at all.
watchtower lawyer says no probing.
ive added a new article to my blog showing a statement one of watchtowers lawyers made to medical researchers about jehovahs witnesses deciding privately to accept transfusion of blood.
i think readers will find his assertion rather surprising; but maybe not.
Does this mean that the Watchtower has a "don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding blood transfusions?
it was in a box of old wt books i had given to me.
several sections are underlined- all about the new light concerning the "millions now living who will never die".
perhaps this is the first official, mention of rutherford's new end-times dogma.
Interesting find, Moshe. I subscribed to several Bible Student magazines back in the 1990s. These Russellite groups send their speakers to major cities through out the U. S. and their schedules are still listed on the back cover of the magazine. "Evidently" the Watchtower discontinued this practice long ago.
i'm an active jehovah's witness.
i've obviously lost my faith, that's why i don't feel bad posting here anymore.
i'd probably be disfellowshipped as a division causing, teaching, apostate, faster than you can say "maher-shalal-hash-baz" (isaiah 8:1), should it be found out that i was posting here and did not repent of the things i've said and stop participating in this forum.
It looks like "2057 1pnt 428571" likes to combine Watchtowerisms with Conspiracy Theories. He/she is probably one of those fringe JWs who attend Memorial each year and reads an occasional Watchtower but has limited association with the JWs.
