Quotes from How God Changes Your Brain
by Markfromcali in..by andrew newberg and mark robert waldman.
regardless of how it may sound, this book doesn't seem to be biased one way or the other:.
no matter how open-minded you are, and no matter how tolerant or compassionate you think you are, there will always remain the remnants of a neurological exclusiveness and fundamentalism in your braina wolf that will respond with fear and anger to all that is different and new.. .

Fake it till you make it policies
by Markfromcali ini was thinking about the practice of not celebrating birthdays and holidays, and even though i've been out a good 10 years i actually am not that big on those celebrations - but i have nothing against them.
and it occurs to me that if the birthday celebration policy is seen from the perspective of not encouraging individuality or even say ego, it is very much a fake it till you make it approach.
besides, is there really any indication that people who celebrate gets the big head or something?.

Do you really want to get over it?
by Markfromcali ini'm asking if people might take a moment to seriously consider this.
now by asking this question i don't mean to imply anything like "just get over it already" - i don't think it's so simple as that.
but it's occurred to me that the mental freedom is actually not as valuable to some people as other things, and we do know the jw experience does effect other things in one's life like relationships and livelihood, or one's ability in these kinds of life arenas.
