Creation, evolution, ???
by Freedom rocks inwas on the bus today and got into a discussion somehow with the driver and ok be ood his work colleagues about whether there's life in other planets, evolution and creation.
the driver believes there must be other life out there, i agree with him that life can't be unique to this planet out of the billions that exist.
his colleague who i think might be a jw by his attitude and reasoning skills thinks we're the only planet with life on it and it was made perfect and exact purposely for humans.

Also, saying that science or evolution is Cofty's religion is silly too. You just can't get out of this made up religious mindset. I'm interested in football, spent last night going over some things to play fantasy football with some friends, will spend time studying and watching it. That doesn't make it my religion. Being interested in a thing doesn't make it your religion. Worshipping something, giving it supremacy in your life, that gets into religious territory, living your life accordingly. This is why it's hard to have honest conversations with religious people. Just like JWs, they see things only through the narrow lens given to them. They aren't open, they aren't exploring life, they're stuck worshiping an ideology that gives them blinders to anything not on their prescribed path.
Cofty, and many here, took the blinders off and started exploring. Others are still stuck. It's okay, believe what you want, but you have to WANT to believe in the god of the bible, it's something you put on, something you choose, not something observed through real life on earth discovery. Some of us are exploring what can be uncomfortable truths with the strength to set down long held beliefs and walk away from what is often self serving. We don't seek to have our ears tickled anymore. I'd rather put my belief in things that can be observed or replicated and in the end, not worship it but approach it with curiosity, than to worship and give supremacy in my life to a belief structure that cannot be observed nor replicated. There's no religion for those of us interested in science, that's the construct of men with belief in tales of old, not something that those without it can be defined by.

How one can ridicule assumption based on observation while believing in a magic sky daddy from a book of fairy tales where so much of what is in it cannot ever be observed is the height of ridiculousness. Be sure that you apply your same criticisms to your own deeply held beliefs and not just that of others.

I immediately thought of that Peanuts cartoon where Lucy brings the ball up when Charlie Brown tries to kick it, sending him on his backside.
It's like the running back gets near the goal line and then looks up and realizes he's on a never ending treadmill that he can't get off of and that no matter how hard he stretches he'll never break the plane and see that ref with his arms up high. There's only one way off, to stop, and it's gonna hurt as he gets throttled backward.

Can you disassociate on your last judicial committee for apostasy?

i'm going to disassociate anyway but i don't want to miss the fun .i'm thinking of handing my letter of dissociation on the night of the committee.do you think this is a good idea?.
as i said i have already made my mind up.

Turn in your letter at the jc if you want, it's your life, do this however you feel works for you. Walk in wearing a cape if you want and hand it in. Okay, now you HAVE to walk in wearing a cape and hand it in. We need video, lol.
I like that text idea a lot. Emails have worse open rates than texts. Most everyone opens a text. It's pretty immediate too, as we all have phones on us most of the time but not everyone checks email that often. Who can resist the *ding* of a new text? Plus, it will spread so quickly and be opened so much that the elders won't be able to do damage control and tell people not to open it like they could an email. Well done.
Like Morpheus said, make it thoughtful and not bitter. You have a chance to make someone think here, a rare occurrence for a JW. -

I wonder if he wasn't accidently doing anything but was more sending a message to you. An I've got my eyes on you and see what's up. I think it's more of a power move, as what are the chances that just happened to be the one he accidentally clicked like on. Just my opinion, but who knows. I like that you confronted it straight up.
It would be awesome if he was awake and letting you know, but he could do that via pm rather than exposing himself like that.

Meeting schedules differ for different congregations. Midweek you have the CLAM (Christian Life and Ministry) and the Service meeting. On the weekend, probably Sunday you have the public talk and Watchtower Study. I and many here have been out too long to have attended some of the new ways that they do things. They have a new Bible that was released just before we left, they have tv screens in Kingdom Halls where mindless drones watch video propaganda now, and things have changed quite a bit.
As to the midnight cry, I can't remember them ever specifying much on that one point. So I'm no help there.
Honestly, your question was oddly specific as to the midnight cry. I didn't know you had been here so long, have never seen you, and figured you were just an average "worldly" person trying to learn about JWs so I mentioned generalized places that might help you.
So, what's the deal? Are you trying to help someone that you love that's a JW, or are you trying to become a JW for someone you love, or just curious? Maybe we can't help with these specifics so much but some context would help us to help you in some way.

London Protest 2018
by josephus inwell today marks the beginning and biggest day of our protest at the london excel.. we believe it's a record number at around 100 exjws at the front door.. we spoke to lots of jw's and one young man studying who has quit after talking to us.
we've been approached privately by jw's who thanked us for coming and the security at the event treated us very well.. if anyone wants to see some clips they are available on my channel the great apostate.. thanks to all for the support and love..
