I'm Attending the Memorial
by RichieRich inmy lovely girlfriend and i sat down over a homecooked meal, and discussed the pros and cons of attending the memorial.. i decided, with her support, that we would attend.. i spent years of my life pretending to be a witness to please my mother.
when i left the witnesses, my mother said some hurtful things.. and those things really hurt me... for a while.
but i established myself as my own person, developed my own relationships, and have gotten a good start on my own life.. i don't know that i want to hurt my mother back, but i do want to make it abundantly clear to her, my grandmother, and all the members of my former congregation, that richierich is alive and kicking.. and i think that walking into the kingdom hall, dressed respectfully in a suit, yet with full piercing jewelry intact, and with erika wearing something classy that steals the brother's eyes, and draws glares from the humble sisters, will be just the thing to send that message to my mother.. i don't plan on partaking or making a disturbance.

WILDFIRE IS BACK IN THE SADDLE...
by wildfire inhi gang , its good to be back ...........i have gone through 2 years of captivity ,,i have been out of the jws since 2002, i moved to austin ,,texas in 2004.. i even had the priviledge of attending a true dallas apostofest, which i will never forget..met alot of great apostates..
but for 2years i have been in a tailspin..last april my 20yr old jehovah witness daughter got married in minnesota.
oh ya i was invited, only to the wedding which was not held in a kingdom hall (because of me iam sure)..my son who was never baptized came allthe way from florida to his little sisters wedding, only to be treated like he was da or df..we were not allowed at the reception and the only pictures i got were from my other daughter who (she was studying at the time so she was allowed to stay for all the festivities..) so me and my son decided to do what any out cast would do...went drinking and checking out the quaint little town that night...had a blast...they had not won ,,i was down but not out...haha

A former "Bethelite" JW's friend of mine wants to "Disassociate".
by booker-t ina friend of mine that was at bethel when the "change" came out about the "generation of 1914" in 1995 wants to "disassociate" himself but is terrified that his family especially his mother(who is of the annoited) will totally shun him.
his whole family are jw's his uncle an elder, his sisters pioneers, etc; any advice i could give him?
i know what it is like since my mom has been a devout jw's since 1967.

We chose to fade. It wasn't for lack of courage, it was in fact the more difficult option. But it worked. We have never been shunned.

if you were to ask me back then if i thought *this* board was going to be around in 7 years, i would have guessed "no.

Isn't 7 some sort of prophetic number in the Bible?! LOL
Seven years ago we were about nine years into our fade. We acquired a computer about three and half years ago and almost immediately found this board. It took awhile (about a year) to get up the nerve to register and another year before I got the nerve to post anything.

Anyone seen a Memorial talk outline?
by undercover inif i remember correctly, someone last year posted the memorial talk outline a week or so before the memorial.. does anyone have access to this year's outline?
.
i'm curious because of the new wt article that basically backs away from teaching that the 144,000 were all chosen by 1935. i'd like to see how it is mentioned in this year's talk because, as we all know, the memorial talk is more about the anointed and how they alone partake than it is about jesus..
