Pet peeve #24.
by onintwo inwhy is it that cashiers hand you your change back with all of the loose change on top of haphazardly stacked bills?.
man, that pisses me.
i remember years ago when i was trained, we always handed the change back into the open hand.

i don't mind unless they purposely throw the change and make the change fall, then i get pissed.....

lol, everyone always got nervous and such, and when the CO visited my g/f's congregation we thought he was going to ask us what we did. she also wanted to go out into service when he was here (keep in mind that morning was 10 degrees), and i told her to F%^k that, its too damn cold. pretty much when a CO comes everyone puts on something fake, somethign they aren't....

Antidotes to the Watchtower
by Mysterious inyou know how the dubs always say that good study habits and meeting attendance help keep you from "wordly influences" well it's high time we had our own antidotes i think.
else think of it like penance.

Back to Russell Need help.
by Gordy ini've come across a guy who was a jw, but has now become a "dawn bible student" , that is he now follows charles taze russell's teachings.
he swears by russells six volumes of studies in the scripture" and writings.
i've tried pointing our russells views on the great pyramid, christ coming in 1874, armageddon in 1914, masonic connections etc.

Curious about something ?
by Nadsam inwho has the real truth then ?.
i found this forum last year and since then i have read many posts.
many people are still eager to quote from the bible etc.its almost as if they are still jw's.

nobody and everybody has the religous truth because there are so many variations of it, and religion itself has went through so many filters of impurity....

I need a strategy---Any Ideas?
by codeblue inin about a month, i will be at a family reunion.
none of my family knows i am fading.
i was on the phone the other day and a family member asked me where my d.convention is and i (totally offguard) said "i don't know"...they replied: "shame on you"...yikes....yes, i am the youngest of the family, so hearing that made me want to just crawl in a "hole".... well, i need a strategy for how to answer any questions on the religious nature that they may bring up....i do not plan on disussing my fading process, i am not there to discuss it, but to have a "nice family reunion" (only 1 is not a jw---so she will never bring up anything in relation to religion).

tell them that you think its BS and that you wish to no longer be part of JW's =D or else follow their advice and act sick

When good elders do bad things...
by True North inrecently i had occasion to speak with an elder i hadn't seen in a while.
(although i've been out for twenty years now, my wife and some of my children are still locked within the org's tender embrace, which led to my happening to encounter him and our resultant conversation.
) he's someone i consider a really good guy at heart, truly caring and sincerely working at being a good shepherd as he sees it.

i really don't think that some elders have consiences....i think a few of them are heartless bastards that do the greater amount of good for the greater amount of people (unitarian). thats the way a lot of the old ones are, and it just chaps my ass to see a few of them do the things they've done and say, especially to me and my g/f. and the others are right too, the elders think that whatever they say is right, because they have the label. hell, tomorrow they can say that it is alright for blood, someone go get a blood transfusion, and then come back and i think the elders would still disfellowship them based upon tradition...so do the elders have my favor?? no

Do Nice Guys Really Finish Last?
by sandy ini was just thinking about this and would like to get other opinions.. girls, do you tend to fall for nice guys?
and by nice guys i mean guys who fall all over you and worship the ground you walk on?.
because frankly, i cannot deal with guys like this.

i'm just a guy. i try to treat my g/f the best i can show her. but at the same time i stand up for what i belive in and what i think is right, and if any dumb mexican guy at the congregation looks at my g/f in a sexual manner and tells her she looks really really good that nite, i'm going to throw my fist in his face as hard as i can because he is over 2x as old as me!
