Do you know of any "baptized" JW's that committed suicide or attempted?
by booker-t ini remember one of my childhood friends was found dead and the police said he committed suicide.
i just could not believe it because my friend was a "devout" jw almost franatical about it.
now years later since i have seen both sides of the coin i am beginning to wonder if my friend did indeed kill himself.

Name Things That You Can Be Counseled For

I was counseled for talking with someone who was never baptized but was deemed to bad association.
For long hair.
For starting to grow a beard.
For missing an assembly when we had 12 brand new baby puppies to take care.
For missing too many meetings.
For not going out in service enough.
For not doing enough personal study.
I am sure I am forgetting a few.

Assumption of Moses
by googlemagoogle ini've read claims (mentioning origen) that jude 9 would be a quote from the "assumption of moses", also known as the "testament of moses".
however, i can't find any reference in this pseudepigraphical writing that would even losely have a connection to a fight between michael the archangel and the devil.
what i also find confusing, that the "book of jubilees" is sometimes called "testament of moses" too, but that's a whole different story.

May be off topic but maybe you could give me what you think.
Do you think any Scripture is actually "inspired" of God? I tend to think it is just mans writings of what they thought was their experience with God.

Blondie says:
If a DF'd person puts money in the contribution box at the KH, I have never seen the elders give it back.
Blondie
Yeah, but they wont accept field service time. They accept money but not time, that BS IMO.

Do you believe Mary was a virgin?
by JustTickledPink inmy catholic friend and i were talking the other night about the virgin mary.
she doesn't even believe that she was a virgin and she doesn't believe in the immaculate conception.
if you think about it logically today, if you had a fiance that went to visit relatives for a few months and then came back pregnant and told you it was god's child, would you believe it?

Dave Sinclair confirmed this little bit of WTS statistical trivia to me a few years ago over a nice warm cup of Irish coffee.
Marvin Shilmer
If the WTS monitors these boards you better be careful what you offer by way of personal info.
