I didn't feel guilty posting, I was terrified, however, to look where we had always been told not to venture. If anything the truth about the truth hadn't truly quite hit me yet. I was in a state of shock for the most part. As time grew, I found it necessary for my own sanity to post.

What do you think should be the legal minimum age for drinking?
by jeanniebeanz in.
do you think that the government should be involved at all, or should this be a parental/individual decision?

Some people even said of me I was alcoholic, just because I had a glass of wine with dinner ! milk was their drink of choice with dinner, or Coke,...
I think we here in Amerikka could learn a thing or two about social graces, alcoholic intake and a little decorum when it comes to alcohol consumption and other things. England & France, you both appear to be way ahead of the curve in this respect.Thanx Celia

Which poster would you like to see a picture of?
by dh in.
seems there are a lot of picture topics flying around lately, so here's another which i often think about when trying to imagine the people behind the posts i read.
is there anyone in particular whose posts you read and would like to see a picture of?

I've often thought about Merry Magdalene, her voice is unique, I sense a hint of Southern Comfort, despite her being from Idaho, and her Avitar is simply mystifying.

George Carlin is the kind of person that is needed in exposing truth, about virtually anything. I wish there was someone who could better vocalize his degree of wit and humor, to bring about the honesty that is needed regarding the Truth about the Truth!!!

Hi Cindy, I'm glad your experience turned out as it did, considering the circumstances. Nothing is as strong as the wish for connect with family. I could never imagine what it would be like to have my mother or other close relatives shun me. None of my immediate family have ever been witnesses.
Even when one of my distant relatives was shunned in the KH, I purposely made it a point to show publicly my protest of the shuning by embracing her after every meeting, I think to shun is cruel and abusive punishment. I was young then and didn't understand entirely all that was involved, but I knew enough to realize that the shunning was infantile, emotionally abusive and something less than human.
I would never tell anyone from the boards that they should never go back to the Hall, my faith, or lack thereof even, cannot save you. Yours is no disgrace, you only need to do what is best for you. I wish you all the best as you make your place in this complex world. May the peace that belongs to God cover you in your journey, whether you be in the borg or out.
Respectfully Arthur

The Government shouldn't be our childs babysitters or rule for moral guidance on this issue, parents however need to held responsible for the things that their children do, or don't do regarding alcohol, firearms, driving priveleges and the like.
Age should be at the discretion of the parent, however as was stated earlier, some parents are buttheads and shouldn't even be allowed to procreate. Geeze, do I sound angry? Statiscally speaking, I say 18, if your old enough to vote and die for your country, no one in their right mind has any reason to keep you from taking a drink!!!
