You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave
Hi Freedom Frog. Unfortunately for me, the above words from the song "Hotel California" symbolize my dillema. Its almost like belonging to the mob, trying to get out, but never truly getting it out of your system. Though with time, you do get better. -

I am not a number
by Peppermint inin the proclaimers book it mentions that from 1944 no credits were given any longer to authors or composers of kingdom melodies.
compare this though to examples in the bible.
david is credited with many songs in the psalms.

Not giving any attention to the writers of the songs probably lends to the Society's austere prescence, not wanting any attention being drawn to any individuals other than those un-approachable figures in high positions, also their wish to maintain a shroud of mystery and secrecy to their organization.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses keep records on people?
by inquirer ini have known some people (i dont' know if it's true or not) [and i am the kind of person that doesn't like to cause trouble] who have said that jehovah's witnesses keep tabs/records on people.
all the things they have done like if they got babtized, personal problems/experiences, arguments they may had with people, and just their general conduct as well.
have any people here found out about a "black book" where they keep records on you?

Be Gentle With Me - Virgin Poster
by TheEdge inchanced upon this website a few days ago, and perhaps spent most of my waking hours (since then) reading, and certainly identifying with, quite a lot of it.
i have also learned a few things i was unaware of - i know this is ''old hat'' to all of you, but i wasn't aware of the un ngo thing.. i was saddened reading many posts - mostly trying to get human compassion (from elders who hold the trump cards - dealt by....?).
i read with interest josephus's post no.313, and goldminer's 1st posting - both drawing attention to how lives have been wasted due to false prohesy - and i thought (after reading how the society is claiming compensation for surviving - or dead!

Do ALL men cheat??
by ChakkaConned ini was watching an old eddie murphy hbo special a few weeks ago where he was talking about relationships.
in his bit, he went off on how all men cheat on their wives and girlfriends.
he was adamant that even the nicest of guys will take the opportunity to cheat if given the chance and that women need to understand that this is the way it is, 100% of the time.

Men do not stray when they are having their ego's stroked,
Depends on the Size of the EGO that's being stroked!!!

All men do not cheat. Though I don't fully understand how, or why they do, if it is they truly love their mates. I know the male premise, that of being like animals ( dogs ), and yes I am forever taken a back by a woman of beauty. Even if the golden opportunity was to present itself, I personally would not just jump at the chance to cheat on my wife.
We all have, I believe ( men and women alike ), the propensity to cheat, to what degree a man will lean in this direction is unique to the individual. Is he lonely, heartbroken, angry? does he want to get even with his wife for having his ego or his pride assaulted by her? Is he weak and insecure?, in need of having his ego stroked by another woman which foolishly drive many of us because we view sexual liasions, not as an attempt at a more meaningful relationship, but as a conquest, something to be won either thru stratagey, ruse, or for the purpose of inflating our own egos for the glorification of self.
All men, however, do not cheat. Being in a monogamous relationship for over ten years, with several opportunities made available to cheat, I chose not to. It seemed pointless, in some cases, dangerous and just not worth the risk of bringing back to my wife a diseaese, or myself with a tainted conscience. Having relations with my wife, after having experienced the forbidden fruit of another would un-alterably change the psycodynamics of my sexual expressions with her, and besides, my extramarital affair in time would only bring me back to hating somebody else in 6 months. I would prefer to hate the one I'm already with. Time and personal experience has proven this out to me that in situations like cheating, you only pick up a whole new set of problems that are often more complex than you had before you started cheating.
