have a sneaking suspicion the new Kool-Aid editions will be passed out on Sundays at the K.H. and then turned back in before leaving....not to be taken home. In that case, it may be very difficult to get our hands on one, but it WILL be done.
No, this can't happen since pre-meeting preparation is needed to be properly trained.

Did you lead a double life as a JW? Are you leading a double life still?
by Bumble Bee inas a jw, alot of us lead double lives.
i know i did.. in talking about our situations with my sister in law, realized that i now lead a double life as a "fader"!!!
my husband and i are "out" of the religion (my brother, sister in law and the kids too) but for the sake of family, they think we are still "in" although they know we are not active.

If not believing everything the org. teaches or believing it is wrong to question the GB and elders qualifies as leading a double life then yes I am. Many seriously dedicated JWs are (IMO) leading double lives since they don't truly love their brothers.

I’ve always thought of the Great Tribulation being a terrible worldwide situation from which escape seemed impossible. IMO these things would be economies collapsing, internal strife (terrorist attacks (?), threat of nuclear destruction, world threatening environmental issues, etc. Kind of like the road we seem to currently be on. I personally can see where we are approaching the stage where only God can save us. But, are we there yet? Not quite.

Obves correct! Yearbook 75 says BABIES who take blood won't live forever!!!
by Witness 007 inyearbook 75 p.223-224 witness couple and their 6 day old cheryl, who needed blood.
"darell and rhoda correctly viewed blood transfusion as a violation of god's law, and thus oposed it.
they were concerned about the babies welfare, for everlasting life is only the prospect of those adhering to god's laws.

What do you bet if you asked ten JWs this question, none of them would know this is their religion's stance on this. I guarantee none of them would know that it's the baby whose everlasting life would be in jeopardy.
So true... and the sad part is that the whole idea of the baby dying at God's hands because of the blood transfusion is not real knowlege but a bunch of hooey.

The Movie "The Apostle" What do you think about it and the acters?
by frankiespeakin ini just finished watching it, its a movie that has a lot of good acting, and i think gives a good portrail, of the effects of programming a child with this religious type of brainwashing.

The movie was pretty good. I don't know if I would use the term "brainwashing" as the character played by Robert Duvall is typical of many ignorant type people who have religious convictions. We are all brainwashed in one way or another. Brainwashing starts in early childhood when the governments institute certain teaching programs and practices in the public schools. We are all learning from others and those others teach from the perspective of what they want us to believe.

Do you know anything about a 'virginity test' for females getting into Bethel?
Yes. She is required to have sex with one of the GB. If there is blood then she is a virgin. If not they forgive her.

I am unable to paste the screen print. It wouldn't work when trying to put it into a word document either.

MultipleArticles***When we last discussed voluntary sterilization in this column* most physicians considered the procedure irreversible and thus permanent. However, medical developments in the last decade have changed the situation somewhat. For example, PopulationReports (November-December 1983, Johns Hopkins University) says about vasectomies: "In recent reports reversals have restored patency—that is, sperm have been found in the ejaculate—in 67 to 100 percent of men. Functional success—that is, pregnancies among the wives of men who have had reversals—has ranged from 16 to 85 percent." New surgical procedures and methods of implanting temporary blocks are also pointed to as indicating that reversal success will yet increase.
I copied this from the sent items preview pane of the 2001 WT. The "sad face" is what apperars in the article but it is copying as an asterik. Any ideas why?

The WTBTS is not above (actually they do this quite often) maneuvering facts to create the illusion they desire.
