  I just had a very interesting phone call from the JC

  i got a call today from a member of the judicial committee asking if i would meet with them.

  i asked them what for?

  i was told it was about my asking questions about wts involvement with the un and bethel layoffs and my getting information from an apostate website.. i told them i have never attended their kh and had been inactive for more than 20 years and no longer accepted their authority and they no longer had a control over my mind or what i read or say or do.

  Garybus, I know this is a tongue in cheek comment. You are an intelligent man which means you would not listen to polka music under any circumstances.

  as i said in another post: actions speak louder than words.

  muslims were angered by the pope's quoting a 14th century writer who said that muslims are violent in nature.. in order to disprove this statement many muslims took too the streets shouting violent slogans and burned an effigy of the pope.

  still more muslims demonstrated that they are not violent by firebombing random churches.. yup... actions speak louder than words.

  Think about it. If we all felt this way and were responding this way the whole world might well be in flames as about 1/5th of humanity is muslim. But we don't and it isn't. Ok?

  I suppose you want to ignore the problem of Iran becoming a nuclear power? If that happens,Iran will use their atomic bomb on Israel and guess what, Israel will retaliate.

  I forgot to say I will die to protect one Muslin I will put my family lives at stake to protect one Muslin. It is something you had better think about now it is happening because we let our Christian nations policy make us the big bad Evil in their eyes..

  Shining one, I for one accept the view that abortion is murder and that animals are not on the same level as humans.Being pro-life often means one is also pro-God since God is the source of life and holds life, especially human life as sacred.

  I am definitely not pro-was but I can understand that when war happens the innocent unfortunately die along with the military combatants.As far as Iraq goes, innocent civilians there are being killed by their own countrymen and in the name of Allah.   what is the punishment for cybersex?

  if they elders found out that a brother or a sister had a cybersex affaire outside of their marriage what would be the concequence for this.

  could that be df?.

  would it be seen as uncleaness or porneia?.

  we used to have this guy that came to bookstudy drunk and he would mumble all through it, and fall asleep and wake up yelling an answer.

  i never went to meeting drunk, but i certainly drank a few to get me through sometimes, took the edge off the continual damnation spewing from the stage.

  another "sister" used put kahlua in her coffee cup in service.

  Donate for worldwide work- did you ask ?

  it was much easier for me when we used to charge for literature than ask the householder if they wanted to contribute to the worldwide work.i was too embarassed.

  that's why i just gave the literature away and not put them on the spot.. the witnesses that did ask the householder to contribute would usually never get a donation.. what was your experience?

  No I never ask for a donation and don't know of anyone who does. Like the other commenters I feel that I have already donated (paid) for the literature. You will notice though that the WTS frequently reminds the publishers to ask for the donation. This way they receive duplicate payments (donations) for the same literature.

  Crackdown on Marriages

  the latest rumblings are that the wtbts may start coming down hard on anyone who marries outside the faith.

  jw's who choose to marry a non believer will be df'd.

  i would imagine those marrying unbaptized ones will be marked or told to get the spouse baptized or get df'd.

  I don't believe that the DF..ing of people for marrying out side of the JW faith will happen. This same speculation is a recurring one. When I was baptized in the 1970's this same rumor was afloat. Most likely the idea of someone who is a JW marrying outside of the faith upsets some of the biggoted R&F and they are the source of this speculation.

  Scripturally Free to Remarry?

  had a discussion with a friend of mine yesterday -- she's still semi in the borg.

  anyway, she says she's free to remarry as defined by dub rules.

  she's divorced, however, there was no cheating by either party in the marriage.

  Let's be fair. The Bible principle is that unforgiven adultery breaks/ends the marriage commitment for both the guilty and innocent party. This is not a WT contrivance. The real issue here is how God now views the adulterous one. That is where one's real concern should lie not with how the WTS views it.

  Many years ago my first wife divorced me (both of us JWs) on unscriptural grounds. Years later, we both were declared Scripturally free to marry another after I confessed an affair that I had prior to becoming a JW. My ex-wife stated she would have divorced me at the time had she known.
