Why does the Almighty need a mediator?
by economy ingod is alike to all of his children, hence cannot elevate one child above all others just because one was brought into existence before others.
(ezekiel 18:4) someone has to be first-born which does not give him any superiority over others!
interestingly, jesus simply dismissed the whole idea of one being placed over the others as pagan.

Why do religious people make claims and then refuse to back them up?
by Viviane inseveral times over the past few months i have had conversations, both here and in real life, with religious people making all sorts of interesting and conflicting claims.
i like to know how things work, so generally i will ask questions to net out what i am being told and see if it can be explained and make sense.. for instance, if someone said 2+2=4 and i asked how, there are a variety of ways that could be shown to me, a number line, physical objects being put together, counting on fingers and toes, etc.
indeed, in my personal life, i often have to explain how certain technologies work, sometimes planned, sometimes off the cuff, from a variety of group sizes to a varying degree of technical expertise.

Thank you for redirecting me to the right organization!
by economy inthank you, jw.net and cofty, for redirecting me to the right organization!.
when i posted why did god permit scriptures to be corrupted?
then i thought, if there is an organization that believes all scriptures are corrupted (which obviously makes it enemy of all religions), that organization is not ordinary, but gutsy, lionhearted, and worthy of close examination!

Why did God permit Scriptures to be corrupted?
by economy inif someone informs you that your shop caught fire, and firefighters are on the job, you will run to the spot.
however, if you had already sold that property on the previous day (which this messenger is ignorant of), you are likely to respond, saying: shop is not mine..
situation is same with god.

Paranormal activity in a room at Ohio University
by economy inwhy this room (no 428), located at ohio university, is unavailable to students?.
it has been boarded up and closed off because of various paranormal reports regarding the room.
poltergeist activity has been felt: objects flying across the room, doors that open and shut by themselves, and dark shadows appearing and disappearing without explanation.

A rarest of rare inventions madeāit is better to remain open-minded!
by economy init seems even the famous scientific laws such as the law of conservation of energy (and lenz's law, which forms the basis of mechanics and thermodynamics laws that suggests machines cannot attain over a 100% efficiency) are all not ultimate.
someone has already succeeded in developing a space generator, a super high-efficiency machine that produces power from vacuum.
the thing is going commercial now with a famous electric company purchasing its the patent.

The Privileged Planet: How Our Place in the Cosmos is Designed for Discovery by Guillermo Gonzalez and Jay Richards
by Slidin Fast insomeone raised this book/film to me recently as scientific argument for intelligent design.
i have neither read it or seen it as a film (i hesitate to classify it as a documentary).
having done a little research it seems to be at the least be viewed as controversial by the scientific community.

What does God really convey through Jesus?
by economy inbible shows that jesus was passionate about people receiving `life in all its fullness' in the here and now, he loved fiercely, challenged corruption and hypocrisy of religious authority, feasted with the marginalized, chastised the holier-than-thou types, healed the sick, fed the hungry, restored broken lives, taught through stories and offered a drastically new kingdom where the last would be first and those that served would be known as greatest..... so good a personality, and a supreme ideal indeed to be imitated..
yet what was his finality?
rejection by people (and even by his own disciples who witnessed all supernatural miraclesincluding his resurrecting the dead) and a cruel and torturous death..
