  Field service report?

  um, i was just wondering where i drop off my field service report... i got about 2 hours today and placed one book (coc)!!

  that's better than i did most months as an active jw!

  lol i did talk to my non-jw dad - i wonder if the elders would allow that as "service", after all, i was talking about witness' beliefs!

  Just think...with that one "service report" you may have done more good than a dub with a LIFETIME of filling in service reports with NO RESULTS.

  Anyone raised a Witness and broke free?

  hello, my name's daniel and i'm new to the forum.... i was raised a witness for the first 14 years of my life and then finally got out when my dad turned atheist...i live in ottawa, ontario of canada... i'm 21 now... still kind of unaccustomed to the world at large, if you catch my drift.

  I was raised as a witness...left it at 16 because it all seemed a load of c^*p. Then being a dummy and having a case of the jitters I came back just before 1975. Whew...made it.

  Years more passed by with nothing happening.I started to realize that I was much smarter when I was 16 and saw it for what it was.I left again in 1981 and have never looked back.

  hi - this is my first post!.

  i have a question that i have needed answering for over 20 years now.. is a story true, that i beleived was true and happily passed on as fact even though i had no evidence.. it went like this:.

  an interested female was studying in america (a long way from britain)!.

  Total Bull Crap and another Dub Urban Legend,

  Try this one..

  TWO dubs sitting on a jet plane..opposite two young persons.They had the logo of the United Nations on T-shirts that they wore.

  Religion came up in a conversation they were having about politics etc.When the two young persons learned they were JW"s they were told to hurry and complete their work because "the time was short" for them to accomplish their ministry.CAN I SAY...B.S

  I am sure I missed part of this JW Urban legend in the telling. It was told to me by my wife about 15 years ago and she had a kind of glazed look about her when she recounted it to me.PS (she still has the glazed look)

  There are though several JW sites that operate under the wire. When the WTS finds out who operates them, they have shut them down and individuals have been "encouraged" to withdraw when the elders find out with threats of losing their "privileges." That is part of the reason why these DBs are made up by women.

  Hah...The women aren't safe either. I heard from a confidential source that ANY WOMAN caught operating one of these sites would have her kingdom hall cleaning and bathroom scrubbing"privileges" taken away from her. LET THIS BE A WARNING !!!

  Do You Feel A Spiritual Void?

  is there a "need" on your part to regain some form of spirtuality?

  at this point in time, do you not want to hear anything about god, the bible, jesus, buddah, etc.?????

  I feel no spiritual void at all.I do not feel the need to try other religious beliefs or doctrines.

  I believe all of religion and the concept of "spirituality" is just an invention of the human mind to try and explain away our existance.

  IF the answer...and the answer is God then it's about time he got involved in the s**t that he started down here.

  IF not I will stick to monday night football until something better comes along.

  Signs of Discouragement in the Org.

  most witnesses i knew were always positive thinking that the end was just around the corner, and that all your troubles were unimportant because the end was so close.

  did you know any jw's or even elders who gave signs of discouragement because nothing was happening like they expected?

  Yes! One very elderly relative of my husband, she's 91, always told everyone that she would never die.

  She complained bitterly and heart brokenly when the policy changed in '95.

  I know this was a HUGE source of discouragement back in 95. My father used to "cheer me up" all the time with the news that Jehovah was going to kill me soon if I didn't mend my evil ways and come back to the truth? He used all of the "generation WT's" to show how close we were to the battle of A.

  He told me, son...I am really old but if I watch my health and take care of myself I EXPECT to live into the new order?

  Guess what...they added "new light" to the generation teaching(one paragraph) and POOF 50 years of hope was gone.

  My father died the following year.I think a lot of his life was sucked out of him with this "minor adjustment" from the FDS

  You DON'T Have To Listen To The Elders If They Say They Want To Meet ....

  everyone that is in the process of leaving dreads the thought of having the elders approach them, call them, etc.

  the fact is----just because they say they want to meet with you or just because 2 elders stop by to visit you----you don't have to deal with them at all.

  simply tell them you won't meet with them, you won't talk to them.

  Personally for me, its very touchy, because even though I dont recognize their authority, they still control my family.

  This is a problem for many of us on this board. The WT has complete mind control of my family.To get out cleanly I have to be prepared to sacrifice any family I have. Many would say if family can't accept me then f*^k them but that is a huge step to take and one I am not willing to take for now.

  I keep a low profile and so far have not been on any notice to appear before a JC. If it does ever happen perhaps because of new light? I will rethink my options then.

  I do believe that over the next few years the elders will make more of an attempt at weeding out the mal-contents and"sinners" in their midst.The internet with all the true facts out there will almost make this inevitable.They need to build a big wall to keep the outside world away and to keep the sheep? in the pen.

  in a recent thread someone said that bagpuss was a good name but didn't know what it meant.. bagpuss was a character from a childrens programme in the 1970s and is becoming popular again now.

  i chose this name as like bagpuss i am soft,cuddlyand loyal, but will get the claws out when needed.. why did you choose your 'alias' and what does it tell me about you?
