i've noticed in my area (ny metro) that jw's count time doing "street witnessing".. do you see the same in your area?.
sitting on benches drinking coffee counting time.
standing on corners laughing and conversating among themselves as people walk right by.. if they do acknowledge a passerby, it's a last minute casual holding out of a magazine or tract.
Street witnessing was easy, not so much money for nothing more time for nothing
I saw two dubs the other day walking about with a leaflet at the ready my wife made me cross the road as I was going to make a bee line for them and ask one or two tricky questions, maybe another time.
i just need to vent.

I hear ya!! I have not had the big D either but you would think so and why? Because I had a brain (not all that big granted) but I asked questions and they don't like it even though they tell you to dig and make sure it is the truth. just got a hold of the new may 15, 2006 watchtower containing the study article, "are you prepared for survival?
I got hit with this when I called a PO the other night about a differnt matter, he said a new article brought out some changes and how that was good for the borg. So I said change is good is it? Yes was the answer and guess what the light gets brighter, what twaddle!! I asked how it could be good for those that refused transplants for their families to be told a few years later that it was ok to have them?? These ones have an eternal hope we must look at the bigger picture I was told. Again what utter garbage these people drive me nuts and no matter what you do you can't fully escape unless you remove yourself to a remote island which I don't want too do.

last night my mother asked me if i've heard from any of my old jw friends.
My Dad popped over last night and I asked him if he could watch the kids on Wednesday night as I am playing football and the wife is working, I was unaware of the memorial.
He told me it was the memorial and if the kids wanted to go he would take them, they both said NO!! So can anyone baby sit for me tomorrow?? Cheers

i know that people here make comments about the religion having problems and growth not being anything other then children born into the faith and third world countries.
i even see them make comments about, "how much longer can this go on?
" yet honestly, do you really think the witness religion will end in our life time?
I think it will carry on for a while yet, sadly. Whilst there are nutters and do gooders and those easily led it will continue. Where there is money and greed it will carry on.
Increase is slowing down for sure but we can only hope people start to see what the troof is really all about, lies, deception and power!

i am not sure but i think judge rutherford wrote a book called "deliverance" and i was wondering if the wt society will release an updated version of rutherford's book at the 2006 district convention "deliverance at hand" conventions?
They need to revise the books that talk about Leviathan being a train, Rutheford getting info straight from Angels, people living not dying and of course a book of revised dates.

my wife and i got baptised at 16 which is now 21 years ago and we haven't been at the borg for 7/8 years but for some reason they still class you as a witness, weird!!.
anyway my sister in law is getting married (sept 06) and wanted my wife her sister to be a brides maid, she met the po he said read a 1984 wt and let me know what you think.
they read it and said they wanted her sister as bridesmaid so he said ok, no problem.

If it is the April '84 botchtower then that would be the farticle. You would think we were complete nutters and causing distress to those in the hall but we're not. I have also heard that it was my cousin an elder in the hall who raised his concerns with the service commitee who are the ones that decide who can and can't use the hall. I think I will be paying him a visit shortly . Trust me there is no self pity in this we are happy we left the borg it is just all the baggage that comes with it. Someone somewhere else said they wish they had never had contact with them, here, here I say but more like I wish my folks had never met them.
I am also calling the PO tonight for a scriptural reason (maybe just a reason would be good) why she can't even sign the register which is not scriptural anyway but a man made law, I will let you know how that goes

Thanks for the kind words. It is the same old same old from this shower of sh*t you sometimes feel the only thing to do is move away where no one knows you. The thing is as well due to rule changes next year it might be alright to have a non dub in the wedding party but by then it will be too late.
And to think my poor wee wife was thinking of going back so she could join in, it means that much to her. Well I can tell you now there is no way she is going back now not a chance!!
I really thought I had seen it all I didn't think they could do anymore to hurt us but there you go wrong again
