Latest News on Oetzi
by LoveUniHateExams ini vaguely remember when the 5,000 year old mummy was first discovered in sept 1991. i was twelve.
he was quickly given the name 'oetzi' because he was found in the oetztaler alps.. my granddad had a book about it and after he died, i took his book home with me.. apparently, some scientists believe that oetzi died from an arrow shot and a blow to the head.. interesting.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3795815/25-years-europe-s-oldest-human-mummy-alps-scientists-say-amazed-learning-5-300-year-old-corpse.html .

Ancient Irael, Jehovah and the GB (has anyone considered this before?)
by LoveUniHateExams ini was just thinking about the wts and child abuse crimes/accusations.. in ancient israel, jehovah used the surrounding nations to punish israel for its wickedness.. seeing as the wts always likes to draw comparison between ancient israel and today, what about today?
could a witness argue that god is currently using 'worldly' courts to punish jw sex abusers and the wts?.
has anyone posted this before?

The toughest dogsled race on Earth
by LoveUniHateExams ini don't know if this has been covered in a previous thread, but what the hell, i'll post anyway.. below is a link to some great photos of last year's iditarod.
this is commonly called 'the toughest dogsled race on earth' - over 1,000 miles in total across alaska.
the sled dogs (which are often alaskan huskies - not to be confused with alaskan malamutes, siberian huskies and even mongrels) are bred and trained for unbelievably hard work in very cold conditions.

Gay Jihadis?!
by LoveUniHateExams inapparently, aseel muthana, a yemeni-british man from cardiff, was radicalized to follow his elder brother to travel to da'ish.. he was encouraged by forhad rahman and two other extremists.
according to the gay times, muthana and rahman exchanged flirty texts, with rahman alledgedly calling muthana a welsh cutie.. when police arrested the three extremists for supporting terrorism, they tried to stop the text exchanges from being made public, out of concern for aseel muthana's safety - what with him travelling to da'ish, the possible gay nature of the texts, and da'ish's hatred for gay people.. i don't know if this is true, but it seems as if it is.
where to start?.

RIP Terry Wogan
by LoveUniHateExams ini've just been reading the sad news that terry wogan has passed away after a short illness (cancer).
he was 77.. i admit that i wasn't necessarily a fan of his but he came across as such a nice, decent, softly-spoken and gentle individual.
he was also a successful broadcaster and presenter.. i hope his family realize how much he was loved and get the support that they need at this difficult time.

Favourite Comedy Quotes
by LoveUniHateExams ini wanted to post a serious, profound quote in stillin's thread but my mind went blank and i'm pretty crap with serious quotes anyway, so i put a jokey quote from the red dwarf computer holly: .
it's better to have loved and lost than to have listened to an album by olivia newton-john.. when a bemused lister asks why, holly replies "because anything's better than listening to an album by olivia newton-john!".
this got me thinking, what are everyone's favourite comedy quotes?.
