I don't think anything much is coming. They blew their wad at the annual meeting and even that was underwhelming. The live stream is Saturday at 3pm e.s.t.

This weeks #2 & #3 talk on homosexuality
by granada35 inafter a one year sucessful fade and no longer associated with any congreation, i was visiting my sister this week (who goes to the meeting to please her husband for now; i am slowly planting seeds though) and they decided to year this weeks midweek meeting via the telephone.
since i was a guest in her house, i sat with them in the living room to hear the meeting.
to my surprise (especially growing up as a gay jw with still alot of anger in my heart over how i was treated), the talks 2 and 3 where on, of course, homosexualiy.

I cringed during the talks. Our number 3 talk was pretty harsh as well. I have to imagine that eventually talks like that will have to be viewed as hate speech. They read the scripture in the OT where it says gays should be put to death. Our Congo has at least 2 families with gay children. I can't imagine how it makes them feel.

I think about half of the families in our hall already purchased a roku to stream it with. I'm not really sure if they are excited or not. I think a lot of "the friends" aren't sure how to feel about it yet.

Interesting stats. Thanks for sharing. The years between 1980 an 1998 saw huge growth. Since then there has been a huge drop off. That's right when the Internet really started picking up steam.

TG is one of my favorite days of the year. Football, friends, good food, good drink. It's hard to beat. Most dubs in our area get together every year. I think the line that most witnesses won't cross is that they won't serve turkey on Thursday. Its usually pizza or something else. If you serve turkey it has to be on a different day. It may be hypocritical but I'm glad dubs aren't hardline on it.

They sound like a really nice couple. Even though the org is all one big lie, a great CO and wife can be a really nice thing. I have a few that I remember fondly. I am just curious how you know that they faded. After a CO is transferred to another circuit you lose track of them. There are tons of circuits in the US.

that the spanish does not literally translate into basic pioneer?

Thanks doc. I am still hoping that your reliable source is wrong. If not then I guess this May be an easy way to get removed as an MS. I would imagine anyone not willing to accept this "privilege " will be viewed as spiritually weak.

the rank and file is now in a strange situation.. it is clear that the jw leadership is in for a huge change.
the type / anti type change makes clear that they make a u-turn.. it's clear that with this changes the current doctrine are temporary.

Local Kingdom Hall Speakers To Be Replaced By Governing Body Video Feeds.
by donuthole inso we've seen as the current gb is getting more facetime in an effort to reach the hearts and minds of the rank and file.
this took a leap with video feeds at an open annual meeting.
the international conventions are taking this a step farther.. do you think that local speakers at kingdom halls could ever be replaced by headquarter approved video feeds?.

Coping whilst stuck in the org.
by crazyhorse ini recently learned ttatt and it really sickens me when i sit through the meetings.
i am so tired of faking things.
i feel like vomiting when annoying things are said from the platform.

1. I totally zone out at the meetings. Having a baby helps with that.
2. I find reasons to not go out in service. Usually we end up out 2 Saturdays a month. I rarely try a door. Usually just time waste calls and break time.
3. I like to people watch at the meetings. I try to figure out if any other friends there are awake yet.
