my thought is don't mention franz's book. they'll just label you apostate and not even pay attention to the rest of the letter.

by dobbie infollowing on again from my posts re elder not leaving wheni asked etc i am sending a letter to the elders about it and saying not tocall.
could you cast your peepers over it please and let me know what you think?of course they may d'f hubby if i get him to sign it also but its what hes waiting for so than won't matter!.
this week (elders name) called on our house whilst 'working' our street, despite our having a sign stating 'no religious callers' that he has seen before.. i asked him politely to put his bible away in view of this, he rufused as i am "not the head of the house".

Who actually did the disfellowshipping?
by barbar in.
when i was disfellowshipped, i was really looking for a way out, although i did not want to be disfellowshipped, it was easier than making the break on my own.. i appreciate that many are distraught when they get df'd, but was the actual meeting controlled by the elders or you?.
how many were really in control of the meeting and knew that being disfellowshipped was actually a way of ensuring that you would get no more hassle from the elders?

i wrote a letter to DA myself. if i could do it over again i would have been at the meeting where it was announced (only it would have been in NY and i now live in CA) just so i could show them all that i'm not ashamed of the desicion that i made.

by NaruNaruChan inyou know... last year i chickened out... but i'm thinkin there's these two trees in front of my old hall... and they look just like xmas trees... god, wouldn't it be funny if...?
if we had a mass movement and bunch of apostates went to as many kh in their cities and threw some decorations up?
i wonder if the dubs would think it's the end of the world!

ok here's the story:
C.J.: Jumping Jehovah! Prince goes a door-knockin'
C.J., Star Tribune Published October 12, 2003 CJ12 Proselytizing for Jehovah's Witnesses during last Sunday's Vikings game wasn't the smoothest call Prince has ever made. An Eden Prairie woman, who prefers to be identified only as Rochelle, said, "Door bell rings. My husband runs upstairs and says, 'Prince is at the door!' I said, 'No way.' " Even though this was an inopportune time, they let in the man who introduced himself at "Prince Nelson" and another man. "I'm terrible with names," Rochelle said. "He was a bass player for some group, a long time ago. Older gentleman." Larry Graham? "Very good," Rochelle said. "This is Sunday about 2 o'clock. And it's the night of Yom Kippur. My first thought is 'Cool, cool, cool. He wants to use my house for a set. I'm glad! Demolish the whole thing! Start over!' Then they start in on this Jehovah's Witnesses stuff. I said, 'You know what? You've walked into a Jewish household, and this is not something I'm interested in.' He says, Can I just finish? Then the other guy, Larry Graham, gets out his little Bible and starts reading scriptures about being Jewish and the land of Israel." Uh-oh. Rochelle said she could not help but think, the Vikings had possession of the ball about two seconds ago. "They stayed for about 25 minutes," Rochelle said. "Left us a pamphlet." She should have asked Symbolina for an autograph. "There's no reason to slam him," she said. "He didn't do anything wrong; he was very kind. We watched him leave. Outside is a big black truck with a woman, long dark hair, in the front seat and they left." The woman met the general description of Prince's supposed wife, Manuella. Rochelle seemed perplexed that Prince didn't seem to stop at any other houses in her neighborhood. "They go door-to-door. Walking. He wasn't walking. He was driving." Hey, he was knocking on doors during a Vikings-Falcons game -- you can't expect Symbolina to follow ALL the rules of the religion he declared as his new faith in a 2001 magazine interview. "It was so bizarre, you would have just laughed," she said. The perfect esprit d'escalier came to Rochelle after Prince left: "If I showed up at Paisley [Park], would you let me in your front door to talk about Judaism?" There was no response from Paisley Park, where a note seeking a comment was delivered Thursday.

sens,
i don't understand though after all the songs that prince has done how he can decide to be dub i don't get it. and i found this out through a news story of a prince showing up at a woman's door. how weird would that be? in that case if dave were going to go door to door i would be ok with it. i would of course have to sit him down and explain a few things (after he signed about 15 ticket stubs of course) but prince well i couldn't care less i just thought it was strange.
