Would you do this to your kids? Is this cold or am I crazy?
by BU2B inmy mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.

When ever they want to see your daughter make sure they don't. They don't deserve it. He's a real greedy prick.

CO are usually broke so go ahead and sue them.
Once again the GB throws CO and elders under the bus in order to save their ass.
Don't you love them?

Don't do it..most likely your wife arranged it since she hopes they can help you and put some sense into you.
Since you know it's not the truth and the watchtower is a cult and will be hard for you not to say something that merits DF.
No need to meet with them

Is is right to leave your job for the WT? In an assembly interview
by skin inwe had an assembly part here 6 months ago where a sister was interviewed by the co because she left her job to do more wt work, she talked about some jobs that she had recently been offered with good pay but turned these down.
most listening to this is would be thinking that this sister is being blessed by jehovah for taking this stand, how much faith she has to do this and what can we do personally with our own jobs, made me almost feel guilty for having a job.
anyway come forward 6 months to now, this family has had to move to another region because the husband couldnt find enough work to support his family here.

Nothing new. Know many older couple here in US that receive minumum Social Security, get food stanp and housing allowance because they are poor.
They put kingdom interest first and now begging in their later years.

Speculation Fall AGM
by Poztate ina lot of comments have been made about possible big changes at the agm in the fall.. comments range from changes to the blood doctrine or who compose the one hundred and forty four thousand.. my speculation is.... (and if someone else had this kind of thread i am not stealing from you..just never read it).
the door to door as we know it will cease to exist.
the publishing of a monthly public wt and awake will end.. instead each month a tract with different subjects and a redirect to jw.org will come out.

Will not be surprised if they will declare that the good news of the kingdom has been preached all over the earth by JW and as said above ease up on it by working only with tracks.
In the 1st century Paul also said the good news was preached everywhere. The GB can say whatever they want and will be sucked up by JWs
as divine.

Michael Sam Story on the ESPY'S. He was raised a JW.
by integ inmichael sam...the football player who came out as gay, received an award on the espy's sports award show last night.
they had a video presentation documenting his struggles and it was brought out in the video piece that as a jehovah's witness, he was prohibited from playing in organized team sports...but that he went and defiantly played anyway.
so, sam not only had to overcome the gay issue but also that of being a witness.

It would be interesting to see if she ever needed financial help who she would go to.
If she goes to the elders for help they would tell her to see her son since he's obligated to help her and not the congregation.

The elders are 'letting me fade'
by TableForOne ini attended my last meeting in january 2014, having realised that i'd been lied to for 20+ years (i'm now 43 y/o).
rumours spread of my 'apostasy'.. in may, cobe contacted me inviting me to a private meeting with elders at the kh.
(no mention of the meeting being a jc).

Advice on fading needed
by wallievase inthese 2 options are before me right now-.
1. write a letter to the elders and my family, not da myself but basically saying i have too much going on in my life and am confused, so that they will stop bothering my wife and stop asking me questions all the time.
after i write the letter continue to go to the hall less and less.... 2. appease my wife.

Good luck....not easy to cope and there is no wisdom that can be given here.
Slowly miss meetings and don't give an explanation to anyone.
Tell others you"re coping with some doubts but make sure you never say anything agaist the GB or the watchtower. You do that and you will be DF.
Was married for 26 years and my marriage ended because i did not believe anymore.
Moved to a Spanish congregation for a while even though i could not speak the language and slowly faded. It was beautiful exit.
Good luck.

by Still Totally ADD inboth reopened mind and i are now in our early 60's and it seems our conversations lately have been on putting everything up for sale and buying a rv and travel until we can't anymore.
it has been a dream of ours for along time to see all the site's in the u.s. and canada.
we feel we could make money as we go by selling and teaching using herbs and gardening.

I have met many couples that have done it. Usually you reach a certain age and you will not be able to do it anymore or the wife is the one that gets tired of "Road Life" and wants to settle down.
I would sell your place and do it but keep the house in Florida as a back up because eventually you cannot be on the road when you are ninety years old. It's not easy.....many quit traveling due to pain and aches as they advance in age.
If you sell everything, even the house in Florida eventually you can consider living in a mobile home park in Florida or California. Not too expensive and you could easily do it on SSA.
I lived in one in Hemet CA. and loved it.
