It was my favorite book ever since I was in elementary school a long, long, long time ago. I remember taking the book out of the school library over and over again. That book opened me up to the wonderful world of reading. And the movie, with Gene Wilder, was one of the great masterpieces of our time!!!!!!!!!!!

i just had to share that we finally closed on our house... after waiting for almost 2 months!!
just so everyone knows, when we get settled, i'm planning to have a "get together"< roflmao, never thought i'd use that phrase!

Since your parents are being supportive, why not introduce them to two really great books: Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom, both by Ray Franz.
Don't know if you have read them yourself, or if you need to, but they are books which have opened up the eyes of alot of JW's.

Hi breeze:
I am here because I don't want to go downstairs into the basement and do the mountain of laundry that is waiting for me!!!! I work OUTSIDE THE HOME at night, and one day every other week. This seems to work for me because I still have kids in school that get sick, have days off of school, have half days, etc....doesn't pay to hire a sitter. So I work at night for now. Leaves me time to come here and improve on my typing skills!

wow, i'm sitting here at the bega library and the young girl sitting next to me saw me posting to a jw board and i am helping her understand the layout of this board.
she has been 'studying' for 6 years and has a lot of questions.
the local bros keep calling to encourage her meeting attendence etc... please give the young lady a warm welcome and help her once/if she registers.. i have recomended randy watters 'freeminds' site too.. g'day julie!!
Studying for 6 years!!!!!!!!! Judith, may I ask you why you haven't become a JW yet? Six years is a long time to be studying. How many books have you been through? Have you been studying with the same person/people that whole time? You are not unique though, I do know the husband of a JW who has been studying on and off for about 10 years, maybe longer. He will never become a JW, but I guess he likes the company!
Please go to Google and type in Jehovahs Witness and do some new kind of studying. The kind that lets you hear the other side of the wonderful world of JW's. They will never tell you in your studys with them the things you will learn there. You will find out alot of terrible stories of heartache and deception. They are true. Please don't tell the people you study with first that you are going to investigate the JW religion. They will tell you not to. The reason is because they have too much to hide.
I wish you all the best and please don't take the "plunge" until you are fully informed. You will regret it the rest of your life!

you want to take out a contract on the kid who broke your child's favorite toy and made him/her cry.
Ah, come on Ashi, it was just a joke. But in the meantime, I will start thinking up some nice Grandma names, like......Nana, Grammy, I really don't like granny, sounds too old, I heard MeMom before, um.......remember Dad's Mom used to be called Gobby?, don't like that too much. I think I like Grandma best. So, I can look forward to being called Grandma real soon, right?

it was five or six years ago that it dawned on me... .
... the realization of what the world would be like if enough people finally figured out that there was no god.... no virtual santa claus that was checking on them (us) 24/7 and waiting at our life's end with blissful rewards or everlasting penalties.
i figured that if even a handful of people figured that out as i had, we'd be in deep doo-doo.. now... i don't care much for religion.
I really do WANT to believe in a God. I use to see God in so many things. When my kids were born, I would thank God for them. I use to see the wonderful things God provided for us, the beauty of a sunrise, the playfulness of a puppy, the laughter of my kids, the flowers in my garden, so many things that I use to thank God for. I really and truly want to believe in a higher power who does indeed love us, his children.
But, why oh why, would a loving father sit back and let his children suffer just to prove that he has the right to be our father? No one has been able to give me an answer that I think is logical to this question. People have given me anwers in the past, but the answer never made any sense. So, I wait. And, God, I am getting a little impatient!.
