Legal immigrants are backlogged 8-15 years. These people are contributing to American society, paying their taxes, playing by the book yet cannot get a g-card despite having lived here for 10years or more! Legally. They were invited into the country by the U.S govt. One reason is that each renewal of their EAD's and travel documents fetches the USCIS around 1300 bucks. ( $750 for an EAD, and $500 for a travel doc.) Multiply that by about 1 million legal immigrants, from China , India and Mexico ( three countries whose immigrant lists are retrogressed 5 years or more ) and it is easy to see why. In addition to paying taxes they have to shell out 1300+ dollars every two years.

Yet nobody has even mentioned this anywhere. Meanwhile the Left is bending over backwards to grant amnesty to 20 million + illegals. So, is the moneys from legal aliens being used to fund the needs of the illegals?

Somebody up there is getting paid off. A country that can walk into Afganistan, and almost wipe out Al Quiada, can't stop drug cartels and gangland members? The problem doesn't lie with illegals. It lies with the politicians. IMO a lot of people are getting a cut from the action. If I remember correctly, four or five years ago, a number of border patrol personnel were fired for being involved in a racket letting in illegals for cash. According to some sources- reliable because they are illegals themselves- a COYOTE gets around 5000+ for each customer. That money is paid up and down the line.

IMO a percentage goes to he cartels and the rest, no doubt, to corrupt cops/border patrol personnel and even more corrupt politicians. Why can't the immigration policy be fixed? Obviously, politicians and other power brokers do not want it fixed, since they have vested interests. The immigration bill tabled by the Senate, is supposedly, full of loopholes, . Yet we haven't heard why. Nor have we an alternative -as promised by them - to the one languishing in the House. RESULT : Stalemate and the usual pol. rhetoric while the border crisis keeps escalating.

it details his transition from christian fundamentalist to atheist and the various shades in-between.

he realises that every denomination of christian can open the bible and prove to you that they have the right interpretation and everyone else is wrong.

The Bible is a book created by a single race of people in the middle east, for themselves. It was their claim -with "Miracles" or "Miraculous occurances", experienced by their own kind - that access to the "one and only true "god" was through their faith alone. Christianity, was an extention of this race's beliefs to other races and cultures, in an effort to indoctrinate them into the faith, which, till a particular point of time in their history, remained exclusive to their race alone.

By another extention, 600 years later, another race of people claimed exclusive angelic connection to the "true god" and established "true religion" in the Arabian peninsula,while denouncing the faith of their fellow residents in the neighbouring land.

About 1200 hundred years later , by yet another extention, another race of people, through direct , angelic, golden edictal connection to the "true god" established their "true "religion in what is the state of Utah today.

In our time, it could be compared to the the people of one particular country-USA's - claims of UFO sightings and "alien landings". Or to claims by other races of people in India , Sri Lanka, all countries in Africa ,S .America and the island countries of being able to speak with the dead, conjouring up spirits etc. etc.

One common line runs through all of this. Mere hearsay with no concrete scientific evidence to back up whatever their claims are. In fact, when examined minutely under the scanner of science, all these claims become pieces of fiction.

This joker is from a south- east asian country.(India or Sri Lanka) His critical thinking ability is almost non-existent or at best faulty. This is not surprising as is evident from his WT indoctrination and his poorly articulated -and even more poorly reasoned- rationale. That part of the world lives with a slave like mentality adulating and almost worshipping their political leadership, and in fact, worshipping their religious ones. So it's not surprising that this idiot has so much to say in favor of the WT ( without the evidence to back up what he is saying- the best he can come up with is poorly reasoned illustrations.) despite having seen the mountains of evidence against the WT.

On the other hand this may be a ploy to hoodwink the WT leadership to get himself reinstated into the organization. Praise the WT publicly so his deisfellowshipping ( I Would go so far as to guess that he has been disfellowshipped for visiting "apostate" websites) is revoked and he is back on the gravy train. Did he mention he was a MS? Soon to have been an elder?( I didn't pay much attention to his hierarchical claims.)

here's a thought: we're told over and over how employers sing the praises of their jw employees, sometimes with a vague quote about how 'if we could only hire jws, we would as they are so honest'.

however, while some jw employers themselves may hire jw employees (usually cheap entry level positions), most don't.

in fact, many jw's in general who have businesses have a rule not to do work with jws, even those in their congregation.

They are lazy and take too much for granted."Now this might have been a sweeping statement on his part, but he was expressing an opinion held by quite a few in that same congregation.

GMJALMT: The question is ageless and whoever discovers the answer to that, will have conquered death. My thoughts run along these lines. As we grow older we begin to understand more, forgive more, become more compasssionate, more willing to seek peace at all costs, live more harmoniously with all creatures including other humans. We have more regrets about the rashness of our youthful exuberence with respect to certain things done. We see our past reflections in the mirrors of our minds and wonder why we didn't possess the wisdom we do now, in our youth. And just when we begin to live in complete oneness with the earth, we have this evolved renniasiance of our existence snuffed out . To what end?

As far as Focus is concerned I tend to agree with Warehouse. Focus provided this forum with a vitality it lacked and a wealth of info that few can match. His personal style and rejoinders may have rubbed a few the wrong way and definitely he wasn't pulling any punches. But then there are quite a few who went into a slugfest with him and came out second best. It's not his fault he is a better fighter. However , Forum rules are Forum rules and Simon is the final arbiter.
