Yes, but only for people who are not otherwise employed ie get the scruffy teeagers off the street when they leave school and cant be 'boverd' to work.

Do you mean something along the lines of, the first time someone turns up at the job centre wanting to sign on they are made to enrol for 2 years national service?
That would be a good idea, it would certainly help put an end to chav culture.
What about for young offenders?

I think it should still be voluntary. If they don't want to join the army they shouldn't have to — they should have the right to starve to death if they so choose.

Give Chav's 6 months after leaving school. If they are then not in a job or further education, enrol them.
