oh dear!

Thanks to all.
I would like to be sure that ALL understand that my issue is not with being DF in the first place, or even that my wife was not reinstated yet, but with the unchristian conduct of the elders. My sins are there for all to see, but noone will ever know about their unloving spirit.
wow! i gather you two know each other?
Wow is right.
Welcome Leebo
ps--I would like to mention that my 2nd wife is a wonderful person (I'm serious)
Satan just ran over me to the point where I was too weak to 'do the right thing' in regard to my 38 year former partner
Leebo:
Nobody here is in a position to judge tepic, his wife, or anyone else regarding their actions or their heart condition. That's Jehovah's job, isn't it?
What is absolutely appalling is the complete lack of compassion that four Spirit Appointed Elders? showed for a woman who was obviously in a state of physical, emotional and spiritual distress, who approached you - apparently in a spirit of humility and broken-heartedness over her wrongdoing - seeking Jehovah's and the congregation's forgiveness and love.
You Spirit Appointed? Brothers? cannot read hearts. Yet you continue to judge this woman as unworthy of Jehovah's forgiveness. Worse still, you treat her like something the cat hacked up, when she came to you seeking compassion in her state of spiritual sickness and distress. What would your Exemplar - the Fine Shepherd - Jesus Christ, have done with a sick and injured sheep?
James 5:14, 15 ~ Is there anyone sick among you? Let him call the older men of the congregation to [him], and let them pray over [him] with oil in the name of Jehovah. And the prayer of faith will make the indisposed one well, and Jehovah will raise him up. Also, if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him.
I don't see any time period associated with forgiveness in this scripture. Do you?
Luke 15:17-24 ~ When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many hired men of my father are abounding with bread, while I am perishing here from famine! I will rise and journey to my father and say to him: "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be your son. Make me as one of your hired men." So he rose and went to his father. While he was yet a long way off, his father caught sight of him and was moved with pity, and he ran and fell upon his neck and tenderly kissed him. Then the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired men.' But the father said to his slaves, 'Quick! bring him out a robe, the best one, and clothe him with it, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fattened young bull, slaughter it and let us eat and enjoy ourselves, because this my son was dead and came to life again; he was lost and was found.' And they started to enjoy themselves.
I don't see a waiting period associated with forgiveness in this scripture either. What I see is that when a person demonstrates a desire to return to "their Father", "the Father" moved with pity, RUNS to meet that person, treats them tenderly - compassionately - and is Quick! to restore the person's dignity and treats them with respect and rejoices in their desire to return to the family.
As someone who once suffered from serious depression - yet committed no wrongdoing - I know firsthand the power the Brothers? are able to wield in the way the congregation treats people with fragile emotional states. They have the ability to make a person feel that they would be better off dead. They have the ability to drive a person to the brink of suicide by making them feel that they would be doing Jehovah a favor by sparing him the task of destroying them at Armageddon. They also have the power to help a person have hope, to feel that Jehovah loves them, to know that the congregation loves and cares for them, and wants to help them be spiritually restored. This power cannot be misused, it cannot be used to beat the flock, including sheep who have strayed.
Yours is a serious responsibility. Jehovah and Jesus will hold you accountable if you misuse the trust he has given you. Would it not be better to err on the side of compassion rather than to judge a person as unrepentant?

Absolutely correct! may I add that in this parable that Jesus gave for a purpose, i.e. to show clearly how the Father feels, the father must have been watching expectantly, hopely for the son's return; that's why it could be said "he saw him afar off". It wasn't an accident that he just caight a glimse of him. Nor did he wait for the son to reach the father or his home. No, the father ran to meet the son. Such was the joy at receiving a clearly repentant son.
Isn't it strange that there's no mention of restrictions etc here? (sarcasm added)

I never understood restrictions either. (Besides not having a scriptural basis). If the person gives comments that are out of line, then just correct them or don't call on them.
It's shocking to me that anyone would take it upon themselves to reveal such private and personal matters as Leebo did here. I don't care what the motivation was, that was ridiculous conduct that I would hope my 6-year-old would know to avoid.
Unless, of course, Leebo checked with tepic first to be sure it was ok to reveal it. (I'm willing to put some money down that says he didn't.)
I'd go on, but that's not what this thread is about. Sorry to take us off track a bit, but Leebo needed his head smacked and he's too far away for that. This was the next best thing.

I agree. It certainly is proof enough for me that what happens in the realm of a Judicial Committee? meeting is not confidential (unless of course you've been accused of child sexual abuse - we must protect those Publishers? pedophiles from Slander?, mustn't we? )
We also notice that Leebo did not even address the thread topic which was the conduct of the elders.
I guess that means they excuse it.

We must not forget that the elders? are the appointed of Jehover?. As such, they must be obeyed and never questioned. They wear the complete suit of spiritual armour?, the christian personality?, and they reflect Jehovers qualities. They wield the sword of the spirit?, god's word?. Unfortunately, they're holding it at the wrong end; that's why they've got everything ass backwards. One day they'll fall on it. I've never known a JW to stay on topic when they're obviously in the wrong. Deflection is a standard practise for them. Walter
