For those of you out there that believe that I made this up or that it is extreme(Minumus and other skeptics) why are most of you disfellowshipped or disassociated from the Jehovah's Witnesses? Obviously you felt that they were extreme people or an extreme religion.
I haven't been disfellowshipped or disassociated, but I would guess that many who were are clear on why they were and knew what they were doing was against the rules. If somebody is having an affair or sex without being married, and get caught and DF'ed, they know why. I don't know that they feel it was extreme because they knew what the rules were. What you're suggesting is that she simply kissed her animals and they licked her (in non-x-rated places). This does not sound like bestiality. Nor does anybody here seem to know of any WTBTS quotes saying that this is bestiality. Therefore, it's hard to believe that elders would consider such a thing bestiality. I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying it sounds hard to believe that people would be so stupid. Again, not impossible though. And 3 people would have to be in agreement. So all 3 would have to be so stupid. Again, not impossible. Just sounds unlikely to me. What sounds more likely is that there is more to the story. I've never been an elder, but I've heard many people tell their stories. A lot of times, the way they tell it and the way it happened are quite a bit different. Did the pets ever lick her anyplace sensitive that she admitted to? Like, say she was coming out of the shower and the dog comes up and licks the water off her butt. Or, maybe the elders told her kissing her pets wasn't a good idea (not necessarily accusing her of bestiality) and she got defensive with the elders, causing her to argue with them. Now maybe one of the elders did introduce the bestiality concept, but that wasn't what she's reproved for. Maybe she's reproved for arguing with elders and she got offended and angry and thinks they're accusing her of bestiality. All I'm saying is who knows? Were you in the judicial committee with her? How do you know exactly what she was reproved for? When I was in, they didn't announce it what you did. A few weeks later, they had a special needs talk and you could sometimes deduce it. Maybe the special needs talk went beyond the kissing animals issue and delved into other animal relations issues as long as they were on the subject of animals. Maybe people assumed it was bestiality, when really they were just covering the kissing issue with extra info thrown in.
Nothing shocks me anymore from the JW's and their rules. If the JW's won't allow witnesses to have their pets get blood transfusions or that they don't want JW's to allow their pets to eat mice or small birds because of the blood still in them then why in the heck would any ex-jw question the fact that these same closed minded elders would put someone on public reproof for being loving towards their animals?
I've never heard of this. I've never heard the blood rules applied to animals.
I do believe they could probably dream up a way to reprove people for being loving (kissing) to their animals. But what you said was that they considered the kissing to be bestiality. They may have their issues with kissing animals, but bestiality is a bit different.
