My friend was "Public Reprooved" for Bestuality. Is this crazy to you?

although I do know of a couple who were told that oral sex was all right (before they were married) because the old duffer elders didn't know what it meant and assumed it was kissing.

That one was told to us by a friend of ours, who was a writer at Bethel, and pretty prominent Bethel elder before the Ray Franz fiasco. He left shortly after that, because he couldn't take anymore of their "crap". Nice man, with great stories.

The elders warned her that if they hear anymore reports of her being loving to her pets she will be "disfellowshipped".

This is stupid. Hey booker, I have a friend, let?s call him ?Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabadoo? Anywho, one day, while he was playing with his very loved, and very much prized Barbie and Ken Collection, a snoopy snoop-sister opened a window, climbed in, and deviously spied on me errrm ? my friend as they were playing. Well, sister sloot ran like Flo-Jo to the nearest brother she could find and blabbed everything she saw?deciding that no child should ever be playing with plastic sex toys? That Bitch!....Totally misrepresented everything.... it got him a year and three months in the JW hoose-gow....poor guy

For those of you out there that believe that I made this up or that it is extreme(Minumus and other skeptics) why are most of you disfellowshipped or disassociated from the Jehovah's Witnesses? Obviously you felt that they were extreme people or an extreme religion. Nothing shocks me anymore from the JW's and their rules. If the JW's won't allow witnesses to have their pets get blood transfusions or that they don't want JW's to allow their pets to eat mice or small birds because of the blood still in them then why in the heck would any ex-jw question the fact that these same closed minded elders would put someone on public reproof for being loving towards their animals? The JW's are controll freaks and they want total absolute controll over all JW's that are baptized. And rules are a form of controll. Case Closed!

Even though I'm somewhat skeptical about this experience, I don't doubt that it's possible for some old-school elders to have a corn cobb up their butt about some things that most other people don't think twice about.

It's entirely possible that some old, conservative, sex-starved, emotionless, bitter, mean, shell of a man sees someone's affection to their animals as perverted somehow. I mentioned earlier that I had heard talks about not showing too much affection to pets, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone somewhere remembers that information and has made a crusade of it.

Even if this happened verbatim as reported to you and then to us, this is definately not a standard occurence in the KHs around the world. It's more of one nutjob elder weilding and using too much power to enforce his own morals or principles on somebody. Which in itself shows the system of the JW hierarchy is flawed and obviously not spirit-directed.

Assuming that your friend is telling the truth, I would say she can ask for an appeal. This means that elders from another Hall will review the case. Any chance that your friend isn't telling you everything? If this is on the up and up, then she should sue their asses off.

I get the feeling that there's more to this story than what your friend is telling you. It sounds ridiculous!

This reminds me of my baptism questions. The brother came to the section on fornicatin' and asked me if I knew the difference between adultery and fornication. Well, as a 15 year old, I most certainly did know the difference but didn't really want to get into it, so I simply said "No". This was probably the best answer, since he then thought I was still pretty innocent.

Anyway, he then went on to tell me the difference. Apparently, if you have sex once with someone outside of marraige, it is fornication. Adultery is if you do it repeatedly. I had to work pretty hard to keep a straight face.
