No not exactly crazy more along the lines legalistic fanatasism. Hey when a person beleives that birthday are condemed in the bible on the flimzy evidence of 2 scriptures why then should I doubt that this could really happen, that elders could really be that stupid. I suppose someone who really takes seriouly anything the WT says could be very narrow in his views.

Although (sadly) I can actually imagine elders who would do this, this is really pushing the bounds of credibility. However, if it is true, I agree that the best punishment for such lunacy would be a newspaper article or letter to the editor.

I have to admit when I watch America's Funniest Home videos and they show someone letting a dog lick into their mouth it FREAKS ME OUT.

"But if you say you are sorry I'll let you live in the New System."

About a year ago there was another rehash on the proper view of pets. I didn't read it, but based on the number of verbal references to it I've heard in the Kindumb Hall it sounds quite dogmatic. ("Animals are just lowly beasts, don't give undue affection, etc, etc") Maybe someone could post it.

This is crazy, but having been raised in a congo in the wilds of West BUFU Montana, isolated from any urban rationalization that eased the fanatacism of larger congregations, I can tell you that the overactive imaginations of some of these elders was a strange and frightening thing. Now I have never seen this particular bizarre thought pattern, but I have seen enough bizarre requirements that this does not stretch my realm of possibility at all.

How are you going to provide proof of something like that? Have the "brothers" put their request in writing? Not too likely although if they were ignorant enough to make the allegations and accusations in the first time they might not realize why putting their "judgement" in writing would be a bad thing.

My partner and I were laughing about this last night as we kissed our puppy good night. BAD girls, BAD girls!

although I do know of a couple who were told that oral sex was all right (before they were married) because the old duffer elders didn't know what it meant and assumed it was kissing.

LMAO!!!!! That is too funny. Dang, I've kissed a few men in my lifetime. I feel like such a slut.

One of the elders I was friends with went to a meeting or school for elders and he met some elders from a midwestern state...like Wisconsin, Iowa or the Dakotas......can't remember, but it was somewhere up there where they have farms. Anyway, he was saying that 'boy was he glad that he was not an elder up there. He said that the elder confided that bestuality really was a sin being perpetuated in the US.
