um, crazy, CHILDREN should not have to deal with that. period. maybe if YOU have a problem with that, you should move someplace where the age of consent is like 12

errrr Tink, im not talking about 12 year olds here...........im not talking about children....im talking about WOMEN. 12?

If you dont want to be treated like a sexual object its easy:

    1) Get ugly

    2) Dress Ugly

    3) Get Poor

    4) Dont brush your teeth

And being that the Olson twins are Loaded with $$$$$$ im sure they dont mind. But like I have previously posted, I dont think even think theyre good looking.

the view that young women are little more than sexual objects is becominging increasingly accepted in our culture.

Women have been sexual objects for as long as there have been women. People can condemn me for this if they want, but when a girl/woman comes into a bar/club etc. wearing low-rise, tight jeans or short-short skirt and a tight, skimpy top accentuating her breasts, bare midriff showing off tattoos on the small of her back, I'm going to look at her and I'm going to think of her as a sexual object. It's apparent to me that that is what she wants.

But it doesn't have to be that way if the female doesn't want it. Women today have more choices than ever in how they want to viewed, treated or accepted as. If they choose to be viewed as professional, as mothers, as conservative, etc and their dress and demeanor make that obvious then I will treat them as such. It's just that some (not the majority) women/girls choose to be seen as sexual objects. If they want to be seen that way, I'm going to oblige them.

they're not effing porn stars, they make CHILDREN'S MOVIES.

These girls must like the attention, else they would have crawled off by now and bought their own little country.

that sounds like the justification so many rapists have used....she WANTED it, for the love of god you should have seen how she was DRESSED.

and valis, maybe they wouldn't allow their publicists, etc to portray them in this way if it weren't essential to their careers that they look sexually appealing. which just goes back to my point that our society is encouraging young women to see themselves as worthwhile only as sexual objects.

i'm seriously completely sickened by the turn this thread has taken.

So much for personal responsibility eh?

um. no. This applies to any celebrity male, female or other. If they don't want attention they simply leave the spotlight, they don't make movies, appear on the cover of every magizine in the grocery store and make non-stop talk show appearances.

funny, i could say the same thing about this "joke", valis.

um. sirius. two young women should not have to forgo maintaining a lucrative career in order to avoid being objectified.

Rape violates someone's rights. Looking at a photograph of adult women who have posed for that photograph and been paid handsomely for it, violates nobody's rights. The Olsen twins have made themselves into a commodity, and become very wealthy by doing so. Comparing them to rape victims is far more sickening than anything else that's been posted on this thread.

w/o having read the proceeding pages, and holding a personal belief that a balance can be struck between progressive civilization and raw animal carnality (is that a word?); isn't "being objectified" what the Olson twins have built their entire lucrative careers around?

And Hillary, really, you call yourself a patron of the arts, but you've never heard of the Olson twins?

Six ~ whose daughter outgrew the Olson twins far faster than the Olson twins grew up, thank god!
