I quite like Cool Worlds. His personal reflection bit at the end is pretty good.
He's quite thoughtful, admits when he doesn't know stuff, points out the gaps in scientific knowledge, and considers different possibilities.
It should be essential viewing for the guy who started this OP - ExB.

The issue is again with our minds. We are products of a universe constructed and governed, in turn, by products of the universe. Physics only work in this environment. There is no reason to believe physics apply apart from the universe. We therefore may soon reach the point where our models and tools for understanding simply no longer apply. That includes our assumed logic of causation.
Conjuring a deity at this point is just a trick of the mind.
