  Different President different time. He's a populist. He craves being loved. The right did not regain power by cooperation. They did so by gathering and galvanizing those that agreed with them.

  As much as I want the two sides to cooperate that is a pipe dream at this point in time. Trying to do that will ensure the left's demise.

  The big question is who can get more states. It appears that there are more people on the left than in the right. The issue is more about demographics then anything else. I'm beginning to think that the only way to regain a foothold in the direction of this country is to move where the need is greater. Maybe we need to start voting with our feet.

  Wrong.

  The left lost, the election was a rejection of the left as much if not more than it was any appeal of the right. The fact that people would rather chose Trump really shows how unpalatable the choice was.

  Whether there are more people on the left is irrelevant if they are all concentrated in one or two states. The failure of dems to try to appeal to the non-inner cities even in the states they assumed were "theirs" is their failure.

  Simon did you read what I just wrote about demographics? I agree with Rubin and have stated so in the past. That's not the only issue though. I don't think he would take the hard line stance that you are either.

  It's become obvious to me with your last post above that your ego will not allow you to budge an inch. To be disagreeable when we don't even disagree. I'm at a loss.

  So now the tactic is to claim that somehow I'm still wrong, even thought you can't point out specifically why, but it's because of my ego.

  You really wont accept anything will you? You make an accusation, you fail to point to an example of what you claim and now you are making ad-hominem attacks as a last resort.

  If you genuinely think that the right "won"* then I pity you. The religious-driven right were gifted a win that they shouldn't have had and will now make as much hay as they can while the sun is shining.

  All the bad legislation and suffering that results should be laid at the feet of Clinton and everyone who played a part in her corruption and everyone who has made the left into such a rabble (that includes saint Obama).

  * and before you start your intentional misunderstanding word games, of course they won the election, but it wasn't because Trump was really that appealing so much that Clinton was unappealing.

  I'm not playing word games. Im drawing attention to what you've said. I've done this on nearly every post in response to yours. Yet you still state and show YouTube clips on issues that I agree on as though I don't. What games are you playing at?

  Trump won and the left helped. I don't think Bernie would have won either against Trump. The Socialist label would have stuck and damned him in the mushy middle of the country.

  I think Bernie had a better chance of winning than Clinton because he was a "change" candidate at a time when people wanted change, there are many people who voted for Trump that have said they would have voted for him, but we'll never know for sure - Bernie might have ended up being easier to beat than Clinton.

  IMO you have failed to come up with an example of what you claimed was my black / white thinking but keep up with the claim if you want, people can read the thread for themselves.

  I honestly don't know what you actually believe - you're all over the place, it's like nailing jello to the wall. You disagree with things then deny it and say you agree. Your original claim about the march was:

  I find it fascinating how "the left" get's the blame for Trump because of the "bad things" the nut-left has said (uuuhh bathrooms!) which scare ordinary, reasonable Americans into Trumps arms.

  I can easily understand the psychology behind that rationalization. But it makes no sense!

  If we are really willing to believe that kind of "lack-of-agency" explanations for how people behave, we should of course say that the REAL cause of the nut-left is the nut-right (the neo-nazis, the birthers, the crazies...). Why? they simply scared good, reasonable Americans into the arms of the extreme left!

  So the cause of the nut-right is the nut-left, and the cause of the nut-left is the nut right, and the cause of....

  And round and round it goes....

  We (I include myself) should own it up: By focusing on this or that point that was wrong with Hillary, the nut-right was hard at work with a gigantic smear, lie and propaganda campaign partly run by Putin. That campaign was successful and it got Trump in office.

  We now got a wannabe fascist in control of the nukes and the solution to THAT is not to ensure nobody on the nut-left ever again complain about bathrooms on tumbler or punch a nazi...

  We are all (moderate liberals and conservatives) in the back of the bus run by the crazies. Our focus should be on combatting irrationality wherever we see it and where it does the most damage. Right now that happens to be the nut-right...

  The neo-nazis / extreme right were not any threat, they were a fringe of a fringe who could barely fill a small room. You will never eradicate such groups completely but they were really nothing. The idea that the nut-left was created because of them is ludicrous.

  The nut-left created themselves because they kept being given more and more power and influence. When that happens, it never gets to a point where people say "OK, thanks, we have enough now!". They want more ... and more ...

  At some point, there is a rejection of it because it all goes too far. Now, for some people, you're a nazi just for being white or a rapist just for being a man and having the audacity to exist.

  The march and feminism in general is a perfect example of what often happens to causes:

  
  

  The "smear" against Clinton was the truth, exposed. Unlucky. All the people who chose her as the candidate should have already known that she was seriously flawed but went ahead and conspired to make her the pick anyway.

  You can't complain that you didn't field the best team after the match is over. Blame your team if they sent the wrong player onto the field, not the other team for winning.

  Simon I will give you specific examples of your black and white statements this evening when I'm home from work. As far as being all over the place, point to where I've been inconsistent and I'll address that as well tonight.

  My position on this march is that I support the majority of those that went. I stand against the extremists on the left and right. I believe the left needs to address their issues and galvanize. I see this march as a step in that direction. You see it as the wrong direction period from what I've seen you post to this point.
