Checked the statistics about mass shootings in Europe in general and no there were not more than in the US .

France had one horrific incident in 2015 which was the first since WW2 . Swift action was taken and less people have died in attacks since then than in the US . You have to look at the overall situation , not cherry pick ( to use an oft quoted phrase)

I did find out that the numbers for mass shootings in the US don't include domestic incidents. How many of those are there ?

Not sure what medical business helped cover up for Jimmy Savile. That disgusting act was carried out by BBC bosses , who were making a fortune out of him and other showbiz people who were scared of being ostracized.

It does seem that anti gun laws would be pointless and impossible to implement now given the ingrained love of guns in American society. Just please don't try to make others seem as bad to justify the problem of firearm violence.

We do have quite a few federal and state laws that make it more difficult to purchase guns and which limit the types of guns you can own, as well as limiting the size of magazines for automatic weapons. And those actually work quite well, as long as we are talking about purchasing weapons legally.

Illegal gun sales are the reason that many of our cities suffer from disproportionately high numbers of shootings, in spite of having the strictest gun control laws. We have had as much success stemming the tide of illegal guns into the country as we have had in stopping drugs from being brought across our borders in massive amounts. A big nation with wide borders and lax border security (due, in part, to peaceful relations with our neighbors for so long) is going to have a difficult time keeping contraband from streaming in.

I do want to point out, again, that many parts of the country are quite safe and have very low crime rates, regardless of the levels of gun ownership. The issues that lead to shootings of any kind have less to do with the availability of guns and more to do with socioeconomic conditions, which are kept in a volatile state because it's politically expedient to do so.

The biggest elephant in the room is the decline of western civilization. There were AR15s around in the 60s for Civilians to buy. People in my area would carry rifles and shot guns in the back window of the truck. Schools and colleges allowed them. There were very few shootings. The only one that I can remember is the Austin tower shooting. The shooter a former Marine left a note to have his head autopsied and it was found he had a brain tumor.

But our culture as of late the past 25 years or a bit more has went down a road of allowing more and more things that would have been never allowed 30 or so years ago. Pron and I mean hard core porn is so easy for anyone to get more than you could have bought if you had 100 thousand dollars in the 70s to blow on it. No pun int.

Glorification of gangsters and thug life and also misogynistic objectification of women. But now its blacks that do it in the so called music style Rap. Spreading and teaching children to have Gender Dysphoria. Teaching children as young as 1 they can be men or women and transgender bla bla bla. Even going so far to inject a child with puberty blockers. This has unknown consequences. But I doubt its good. We live in a world where the left degrades work and work ethic. Now its just great to sit on a couch and eat your way to 600 pounds and expect the tax payers through the state to support you again no pun int.

Teaching children that the USA is an evil place going so far as to change history to fit their narrative as in the BLM movement.

Teaching Black kids they will most likely not succeed because they are black and don't have the ability to over come this systemic racism which is a total lie.

Teaching white kids they are privileged even if they live as poor as any black because we all know that when no blacks or browns are around whites hand out money to each other. LMAO

That all whites are evil and need to pay blacks for something that happened to someone who died 160 years ago by someone who died 160 years ago.

The hospitals that he raised money for. They have him a flat to stay in on-site and allowed him to take troubled girls out for the day (who were then raped by him).

They knew, and allowed it. The police were also in on it. Watch the documentary.

I literally cannot believe what an asshole Barak Obama is.

Yeah.... Let's all forget about grieving over a class full of innocent kids being gunned down. Barak wants us to focus our energies on someone else!!

    Well that's bad enough.

But when the someone else he wants you to focus on is a violent thug who threatened to shoot another (unborn) child, that makes it all the worse.

As more information comes out it's sounding more and more like the cops fucked this one badly.

They were more interested in keeping parents away from the school, even to the point of pulling tasers on them, than doing the recognized right thing which is to go in hard and go in fast.

They sat back while he slaughtered the kids.

I think the idea that you shouldn't be able to defend yourself but instead wait for the police to come and save you can be torn up and burned. It's done.

Some of it is likely them wanting to protect themselves, but another aspect is that the last few years must have surely make the police afraid to act and pull a trigger. It could end their life if they make a mistake.

We need to go back to people having a personal responsibility for their own well being which involved not being a dick by doing something that could get you shot.

Everyone of the witch-hunts for police contributes to change. It affects how many police are experiences and how quickly they are likely to act. Not all change is good.

So you did want armed security guards in all the schools but now you want armed parents in the schools? Maybe armed children?

The guard at Parkland shooting went into hiding. Seems the police in this case had strong self-preservation instincts. A shooter can kill lots of people in mere seconds. Quicker than even a heroic defender could intervene.

Local schools cut ties to police liason officers, then hired armed security. Not in every school, but just driving one to other.🤔

The reason was the police interacted with misbehaving minorities instead of doing quotas by race.

Simon is right that police in general will not engage because they get accused of racism or brutality. We have an increase in large scale shoplifting too, same reason.

The perp is a poster boy for the new left agenda instead of one of us rednecks.

No, it's very simple, let me explain it so that even a democrat should be able to understand it:

Picture anywhere that keeps valuable things. What do they have?

    • Controlled entry to where the things are kept
    • Someone on guard at the entry

Have those things for kids, because they are valuable.

In this case, the doors were open, no one was on guard and the gunman walked right in.

The police then actively prevented anyone else taking action, handcuffing and tasering them, while the gunman executed the kids.

It's because people refuse to acknowledge the real trade being made.

Those kids died so someone didn't feel the hurts of being labelled, or shot. I don't care which. But if that guy had been locked up or shot there would be the same people now whining about guns whining that the police shouldn't have them and that everything is unfair.

I call 20 dead elementary kids more unfair than 1 dead asshole shot by a cop.
