"You'll roll your eyeballs over this, but it's from 2 things, the bible and faith by believing and not seeing." I'm sorry you need a work of fiction for a crutch. I myself did research, into history, and science, the bible IS a work of fiction, and plagerized alot of the Babylonian, and Sumarian myths. I'm a man, and I don't need a crutch to live life, and to think for myself.

There's a new anti-abortion song written by a German songwriter, not sure of the name of the singer since I can't read German, however I'm sure someone can help me with that....

Here's the orginal text in German....

    RAMMSTEIN LYRICS "Spieluhr"

Ein kleiner Mensch stirbt nur zum Schein
    wollte ganz alleine sein
das kleine Herz stand still fur Stunden
so hat man es fur tot befunden
es wird verscharrt in nassem Sand
mit einer Spieluhr in der Hand

Der erste Schnee das Grab bedeckt
hat ganz sanft das Kind geweckt
    in einer kalten Winternacht
    ist das kleine Herz erwacht

Als der Frost ins Kind geflogen
    hat es die Spieluhr aufgezogen
    eine Melodie im Wind
und aus der Erde singt das Kind

    Hoppe hoppe Reiter
    und kein Engel steigt herab
mein Herz schlagt nicht mehr weiter
nur der Regen weint am Grab
    hoppe hoppe Reiter
    eine Melodie im Wind
mein Herz schlagt nicht mehr weiter
und aus der Erde singt das Kind

Der kalte Mond in voller Pracht
h ort die Schreie in der Nacht
    und kein Engel steigt herab
nur der Regen weint am Grab

    Zwischen harten Eichendielen
wird es mit der Spieluhr spielen
    eine Melodie im Wind
und aus der Erde singt das Kind

    Hoppe hoppe Reiter
    und kein Engel steigt herab
mein Herz schlagt nicht mehr weiter
nur der Regen weint am Grab
    hoppe hoppe Reiter
    eine Melodie im Wind
mein Herz schlagt nicht mehr weiter
und aus der Erde singt das Kind

    Hoppe hoppe Reiter
mein Herz schlagt nicht mehr weiter

    Am Totensonntag horten sie
    aus Gottes Acker diese Melodie
    da haben sie es ausgebettet
das kleine Herz im Kind gerettet

    Hoppe hoppe Reiter
    eine Melodie im Wind
mein Herz schlagt nicht mehr weiter
und auf der Erde singt das Kind
    hoppe hoppe Reiter
    und kein Engel steigt herab
mein Herz schlagt nicht mehr weiter
nur der Regen weint am Grab

Now I used Babelfish, I am aware of the fact it doesn't translate reliably, however if any German speaker could take a little time to translate the song into a much better english translation, that would be appreciated....

    RAMMSTEIN LYRICS "play clock"

Small humans die only to the light
    wanted to be completely alone
the small heart stood quietly fur hour
thus one found it fur dead
    it verscharrt in wet sand
with a play clock in the hand

The first snow the grave covers
    completely gently the child woke
    in cold winter eight
    the small heart awoke

As the frost flown to the child
it drew the play clock up
    a melody in the wind
and from the earth the child sings

    Hoppe hoppe riders
    and no angel climbs down
my heart do not continue to strike no more
only the rain cries at the grave
    hoppe hoppe riders
    a melody in the wind
my heart do not continue to strike no more
and from the earth the child sings

The cold moon in full splendour
h place the cries at the night
    and no angel climbs down
only the rain cries at the grave

    Between hard oak halls
it will play with the play clock
    a melody in the wind
and from the earth the child sings

    Hoppe hoppe riders
    and no angel climbs down
my heart do not continue to strike no more
only the rain cries at the grave
    hoppe hoppe riders
    a melody in the wind
my heart do not continue to strike no more
and from the earth the child sings

    Hoppe hoppe riders
my heart do not continue to strike no more

    On dead Sunday strongholds it
    from God field this melody
    there they expenditure-bedded it
the small heart in the child saved

    Hoppe hoppe riders
    a melody in the wind
my heart do not continue to strike no more
and on earth the child sings
    hoppe hoppe riders
    and no angel climbs down
my heart do not continue to strike no more
only the rain cries at the grave

Just thought I share what I found...

you conveniently sidestep the question about killing in self-defence. "If killing is wrong, killing is wrong" is a fatally flawed argument; like many such simple logic, it is also simply wrong.

    Abaddon wrote:

I have expanded on this statement above, you must have missed it. Read the thread.

****No, you didn't 'expand' on the statement; unless, of course, the expansion is Watchtower-speak: you made an absolute statement about killing being wrong. All killing in not wrong. Is it too much to revise your opinion or 'modify' you statement about killing being wrong?

    Your comment regarding imprisonment:

Except that such a person continues to murder other prison inmates and prison guards, eh?

You are suggesting that it is okay for the state to kill people in cold blood to avoid the possibility of them killing people - whether they are in prison or out of prison makes no difference to the argument, and this is the entire argument for the death penalty.

***** I won't object to you saying the State 'kills', insofar as killing means the taking of life; but you resort to emotions, re: killing in cold blood. Of course, it makes a difference whether they're out of prison or not. What appropriate punishment for someone serving, say, natural life who kills again while in prison? If your death penalty argument can't disinguish between different cases, it's as good as being worthless, and that's perhaps what's wrong with the views you present: you make abosolute statements without regards for other perspctives.

Do you know how many people are killed in prison each year, or the difference between, say the US penal system with regard to murders within prison, and the UK penal system and murders within prison? Come up with some facts that show that a high murder rate within prison may be an argument against using life imprisonment...

****No, I don't. Do you in turn claim that your views are based on statistics? How many murders by anyone in prison will satisfy you? 30? More?
