Honest Questions About Child Abuse
Richard, to actually move on, one would work through the state of denial - and admit just how bad the Watchtower organization is. That you were a part of and supported it maybe for years. Not easy.
With just a little research you will find it very similar to other destructive cults - kind of like Scientology on tranquilizers. Human beings have been attracted to cults since the dawn of time, it seems. And have escaped.
Many here have moved on quite nicely in their personal lives. They come here to support others who are coming out and going through the trauma of being shunned, and of having been duped. There are some wonderful friendships that have been formed here - some (about 40 this year) travel long distances to meet every summer for a campout. All of them are kind, honest and great friends.
Another reason to come here is to educate jw lurkers and current members about how dishonest, heartless and destructive the watchtower is.
Some posters showed up here suicidal and have made it through to a good free life.
If that's not for you, good luck on your journey. Some here will be very blunt because there is really not time to waste being polite about the watchtower. You are welcome here - if you can take some heat in disagreement. This thread you started has been a good one.
Outlaw: "Why can`t ex-JW`s leave the WBT$ and just move on?"..
The thread is complete..
Watchtower isn`t the problem,ex-JW`s are..
And...it appears like Richard's myopic vision isn't the problem either...it is the members on this forum, according to Richard.
Such a typical knee jerk response instead of addressing the replies to his concerns..."oh, it is youze guys who are the problem".
Way to go, Richard. Just come out and insult every person on this forum and then bow out. A mature and intelligent response (not).
OrphanCrow. I did not insult any person. I gave my opinion. The closest thing that I did was correct one person by informing them that Watchtower does not have a fiduciary responsibility, and provided evidence that Judges view it that way. I have been insulted in fact because I to toe the line of wanting Watchtower to be destroyed. Do I think that there are problems? of course. Do I think that the right way is by suing them? I do not. I have also researched this issue with actual reviews of briefs, decisions on summary judgments and other legal proceedings. So many people here think that it is an automatic win against Watchtower, but honestly there are more losses than there are wins. Even in the Conti case the state appellate court ruled that a congregation has no duty to warn and that there is a difference between misfeasance and malfeasance I presented actual facts but no one wants actual facts, everyone wants emotion to win, emotion is great, but law is what stops actions.
Richard: OrphanCrow. I did not insult any person. I gave my opinion.
You can call it an opinion if you want...but it doesn't change the insult that you levied against the entire forum when you stated that opinion.

You still don't get it, do you?
The court cases are for the victims to get redress for the harm that they have suffered. Period.
And, regardless if there are California and other courts that can't see the forest for the trees, there are legal systems that do agree that the WT is responsible for the harm that many victims have suffered.
And yes...there certainly are more losses than wins. You have that correct. It is very difficult for victims to get the redress that they deserve. Many victims have lost and most of them didn't even have to go to court to chalk up their losses. All they had to do was be in touch in some way with the WTS for them to lose.
I have been insulted in fact because I to toe the line of wanting Watchtower to be destroyed.....RO
What a Mess..
Were you trying to say:
I have been insulted in fact because I won`t toe the line of wanting Watchtower to be destroyed..
No one asked you to destroy the Watchtower..
No one invited you to join a group dedicated to destroying the Watchtower..
It`s another strawman argument, that never happened..
You'll do what ever it takes..
To take the focus off the WatchTower/JW Pedophile Problem..
Including lying you ass off,or trying to mislead the topic of conversation you started..
Is there anything honest about you?
I am lost, surely you mean you can't be a part of these X-JW communities, not you can't be apart.
That has quite the opposite meaning.
You gotta remember Watchtower places itself as the "head" of each and every baptized witness and their families with its myriad of rules and regulations JWs are emotionally blackmailed into living by. It is during the carrying out of these many rules that much trust is given atomatically to other members of the group whether they actually are trustworthy or not. I do hold WT reponsible for insisting their rules be followed they cross the line when they control others, they control others through fear obligation and guilt - IOW indoctrination.
WT is a high control group that needs to be exposed as such so people can see it for themselves and leave or not join in the first place and if lawsuits and bad press will help that happen then great.
Of course laws changing is worthwhile goal and there are good people working tirelessly for that but victims of WT have the right to do whatever they need to so I will not be judging them for suing WT anytime soon.
Every religious institution likes to create a social environment of wholesomeness and responsibility.
This is also apparent in the JWS religion and maybe even to a higher level.
Outside of the organization is evil, there's false religions everywhere, Satan is on the loose to corrupt souls, the wicked system of things as it were.
Being that is propagated so aggressively in the JWS faith, it's no wonder that the WTS would try to conceal instances of sexual abuse of children within its own ranks.
So what are the real consequences of handling these situations as the WTS has done for decades now ?
Well some of these perpetrators admitted to the crime and were punished by the WTS's own standards and some left the area of where they made the attack.
Some may have gravitated to another Kingdom Hall somewhere else, only to commit an attack onto another victim.
Some left the area where they were living and put themselves into hiding even into other countries, there's actual documentation to that happening.
So you can see the way the WTS has handled situations of pedophilia with its own organization has resulted in dire irresponsible consequences.
Watchtower protecting Pedophiles,is the lawyers fault?..LOL!!..
You forgot the Catholics!..
No WBT$/JW Pedophile Argument is complete, until you Blame the Catholics..
How about if the lawyer,is a GawdDamn Catholic?!..
More than the catholic church hid it, you forget the protestant churches only it didn't make world wide headlines, church of England was found to have hid it recently. all religions do it.
