    Jayson,

Your post was very relevant and i've no problems with the points raised. Yes the sanctions have been lifted but the rebuilding of Iraq is still not happening as quickly as was promised.

The problems in Iraq are exactly the same as Afganistan and if you look at whats happened there since that country was bombed back to the stone-age, you will see a glimpse of what will happen in Iraq.

Did you expect the Iraqi people to welcome and trust the US/British troops when they had just experienced their husbands, wives and children killed by the same people? Would you?

    Expatbrit,

You get the prize for the first person to mention 'Anti-Americanism'.....thats a load of rubbish and you know it.

As Mr Kim has said, this is all a prelude to bigger things and at least most people are waking up to the fact that the governments are not controlled by 'the people' but they follow their own agenda.

    Hey Search!

I thought that we were going to keep this thread civilised? Is posting pics taking the mickey out of Americans going to achieve that?

It is beginning to look like a mistake but now what's done is done. If we were to simply pull out now, all the Iraqi supporter of invasion would be royally screwed. Their own people would turn on them. When the US pulled out of Vietnam, the Hmong, who were supporters were screwed, in serious danger, which is why they have very lenient immigration rights. They come here for safety. There are a lot of Hmong people in our area who fled Vietnam. I think it is good to let them immigrate, least we can do. But the Hmong community has had a lot of problems adjusting to American culture.

And it's a real shame that yet again rampant Anti-Americanism has been allowed to stampede over the board. I thought the moderators were going to, you know, moderate. But it seems that as regards America, anything goes. Americans are stupid? What a laugh! Americans are lazy? Incredible information!

This is whinging cry-baby politics. There is no america bashing, just a discussion. If you can't handle a discussion then leave.

The moderators are here to ensure that certain standards are maintained, not to make sure that only one side of something is heard (ie. yours).

Now, let me make this plain to everyone because I am sick to death of these "ooh, anti-american" complaints.

If you don't like a comment or disagree with something then refute it. The forum is fair and I'm not going to allow incessant bitching and moaning that is simply not justified.

Seems kind of odd that a Canadian would go to bat for American President

My posting name is Expatbrit. Hint: that may give you a clue as to my nationality. I know it's a long word of capitalist proportions, but try and break it down into welfare state sized chunks.

Canandians have said rudely themselves about how wrong we were to go to Iraq and now you support the one resposible for it?

The left wing of society in, um, Canandia gave their usual solutionless protests. Interestingly, once the Iraq war started, polls showed that the majority of Canadians supported Canada becoming involved in military action. There was a strong sentiment that Canada had betrayed its friends and allies because of the vacillations of a lame-duck Prime Minister. Quite a correct sentiment, too.

As for Bush, you jump to the usual extremist conclusion that because I'm not posting reams of anti-Bush propaganda, I'm "kissing his ass". In fact, there are several things I don't like about Bush, his religion and his mediocre economic policies amongst them.

I think you should give up your citizenship rights in canada and come give your grace to Bush.

That's odd, I could have sworn that I hadn't yet gone through citizenship processing in Canada. Oh well, I must be mistaken. Or maybe it's a right-wing conspiracy.

Ask the Uk what they think about Tony Blairs ass kissing they will tell you he sucks.

Depends who you ask in the UK. If you ask a ranting exterme left-wing conspiracy theorist who's weekly routine involves collecting a welfare cheque and spending it on drugs while protesting about how the right-wingers are victimising him, you will get the answer you so obviously want. If, on the other hand, you ask one of the millions who pay the taxes to fund the nanny state, yet who have some pride in their country, you will probably get a different answer.

So are you a sucker to ?

"Am I a sucker to" what?

Yes, ad hominem attacks, mistaken assumptions, lack of reading comprehension and uneducated analysis. I would say you've done the left wing proud.

Pray tell us, oh wise and informed one, which one am I?

I pay my taxes. I don't take drugs. I know when someone is telling me a pack of lies and see no reason to allow them to get away with it because of some long stream of "might happens".

I think you are an extremist with an insulting attitude.

If all it does is quack, then it's a duck.

Good non-answer. I take it you don't really have an answer. There rarely is an argument behind dogmatism.

So what am I to make out of the pro-american threads? Are they evidence of "world bashing" or proof that you are talking rubbish? Pick one.
