Real reasons behind this change?

It could actually be a boost to informal witnessing, since you can claim time if you have a few conversations with people. Much better than knocking on rows of doors on a weekend morning, or accosting people on the street.

On the other hand, people will soon tire of having every conversation turned into a JW pitch meeting. Can't win them all!

they are still requiring ppl with titles such as pioneer, elder, etc., to continue reporting time. Reckon how long before those pillars are deemed unnecessary, or the titles changed to something like Person Who Preaches About An Organization Because They Took A Notion To Do It.

The real reason behind this change is because the GB dudes in NY are such a loving, down-to-earth, good-natured guys with our best interests at heart.

They're just trying to make it easier on us,,,LOL as Gorb said.

Biahi, I agree " think the real reason is because so many are leaving, hours are down so much, they can’t publish that. So they present this as a ‘loving provision’, while hiding the low numbers. They know people are leaving in droves."

Saturday mornings were always about doing at least an hour before coffee break

now it could be just one door, or perhaps at least ten mins before ‘park witnessing’ which means a nice walk around the park before regrouping and planning who’s house to go back to next coffee break

Or it could be as simple as walking by someone on the street.

Or waving at someone as you back out of your driveway.

You can sleep in & go for breakfast on Saturday morning. Shoot the breeze with the waitress & cashier.

That way you can check the box as ''yes"".

Fisherman: "All of a sudden this realization and change after a century or so or reporting time?"

    Excellent, thought-provoking question!

I agree with Biahi and Blondie. This will give them an easy way to hide decline in the ministry.

It will hide the decline in the ministry but increase the number of active publishers. The numbers game then appears that Jehovah is blessing the organization as always. Also the more active publishers there are, the more likely they can get more donations. Donations in the end are what matter the most.
