    Therein lies the rub….

What additional conclusions will be justified by those who buy into the false analogy?

An analogy doesn't justify any conclusion, because even a good analogy will break down if you push it too far.

Humans aren't very logical creatures though.

It's hard for me to tell in this case if Ms. Wen's intentions were good or if she meant to suggest that there should be civil and/or criminal penalties for the unvaccinated, just like there are for drunk drivers.

    Vidqun:

After all, the average (IFR) death rate of Covid is a mere 0.26% of those infected

Setting aside the fact that that figure is from CDC estimates based on various scenarios rather than an observation, that still would work out to a lot of people. And it’s still several hundred times worse than the rate of deaths following vaccination (including deaths not caused by the vaccine).

    So what's more of a problem;

    Covid

    or

The MURDERS, THE RIOTS, AND THE CRIME.

And IF the virus is so bad----WHY WAS THERE A THREE DAY HUGE MUSIC FESTIVAL IN CHICAGO WITH MANY OF THE POLITICIANS ATTENDING---WITHOUT MASKS?????

Global TV which is a across Canadian broadcast and the people who mentioned about people being admitted to ICUs were from the doctors actually working there.”

Let’s say this is factual, it’s still anecdotal evidence that in no way supports vaccine mandates, or vaccine task forces or extreme rhetoric like comparing the unvaccinated to drunk drivers.

Answer this question: If I’m unvaccinated and it can be proven that I passed Covid-19 on to a group of, let’s say 20 people and 10 of them die. Should I be charged in a similar fashion to a drunk driver who kills 10 people on the highway? Should I lose my freedom and go to jail?

Do you, or do you not agree with the Doctor mentioned at the beginning of this discussion?

Everyone including many conservatives Democrats are finally asking questions regarding the Vaccine, the lockdowns, and the mandates to wear masks.

Why is it a mandate to wear masks, Lockdowns, and vaccines if the Governor and mayor allowed a 3 day music festival with thousands attending and the politicians running Chicago also attending without masks???

Look at the evidence and not the "Expert" rhetoric.

    “Well DD, which is it?

Was it better to lock down, or let covid rampage unchecked?”

    1) Neither. Respond appropriately instead of playing politics. Remember the clips of Kamala Harris refusing to take any vaccine associated with Trump? That’s a prime example of how idiot Politicians behave at the expense of citizens.

“Im referring not only to mortality rates but the sheer amount of people that would need hospitalisation and ICU support. Can you imagine the affect on supply chains, as anonymous pointed out, if uncontrolled amounts of people got sick?”

    2) This goes back to understanding mortality rates and prevention. The amount of normal, healthy people in danger from Covid-19 is very low. That leaves us with those with known co-morbidity issues, and of course the small amount of seemingly healthy people who may die. We’re still looking at 99.7% being at zero risk of death.

There would be no mass ICU issues if known, tested, and proven methods of prevention with decades of real testing had been implemented from the start. Yet, just like Kamala refusing to take a “Trump vaccine”, methods of proven and existing (No need to wait for months and let the virus run it’s course while rushing out a less than thoroughly tested MRNA shot ) and inexpensive treatments were ignored or purposely discredited along with anyone who recommended them.

Here’s a interesting fact. It’s illegal to approve a treatment for emergency use when know, tested and proven treatments already exist.

So, why don’t we all put the blame where it belongs, namely everyone responsible for playing politics, lying about prevention and treatments while making vast amounts of money? This includes anyone who knowingly went along with the game, whether it is Trump, Faucci, Biden, Harris, Trudeau, any Doctors, or your local elected official, the local School Board masking children, the sickening Canadian officials giving children ice-cream and vaccinations without parental consent and the idiot healthcare worker in the UK who tried to take a newborn from its Mother, who tested negative for Covid-19, and give it a PCR test.

These idiotic, useless, money hungry bureaucrats and the morons who follow them are the problem. Why don’t we put the blame where it belongs?

“The fact we can hold to right now is that vaccinations are only useful to lessen symptoms if you do get Covid.

If and when the social restrictions are completely removed and serious cases goes down remarkably, then they have proven themselves to be effective and purposeful.”

So, after all your rhetoric and insults this is all you have to hold on to? The reduction of symptoms??? Seriously??? You admit they aren’t safe and effective for stopping the spread of Covid-19, but merely useful for lessening symptoms?

We already have compounds and drugs that can be repurposed to not only lessen symptoms, but to drastically reduce the need for hospitalization. We don’t need an mRNA shot.

I agree 100%, but we’re thinking logically as opposed to operating under the influence ( see what I did there? 🤣 ) of ideological possession.

If people buy into her faulty line of reasoning, then what can they justify in their minds? That’s what we need to be worried about.

We didn’t have to wait too long for an answer to my above question. New York has provided an answer already. The French parliament has also passed a law requiring “health passes.” Insanity..

we are one step closer to a social credit score just like China..

"A fully vaccinated individual is much, much, much less likely to be represented in health care, is much less likely to be represented as a fatality, or an ICU," said Dr. Zain Chagla, an infectious disease specialist at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.

Chagla said his COVID-19 patients in the last month were all unvaccinated.

A report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control made public last week caused some confusion after it reported that vaccinated individuals with COVID-19 appeared just as likely to spread COVID-19 as those with no vaccine protection.

Chagla said, however, it's still not clear how transmissible the virus found in vaccinated individuals is, and some studies show vaccines help clear the infection faster and therefore the contagious period is much shorter.
