The claims in the e-mail sound like complete nonsense. There is no reason why Facebook and YouTube would 'co-operate' with the Watch Tower Society merely on the basis of people posting things Watch Tower 'doesn't like'. And there is no basis for claiming that JW elders would be allowed to 'count time' for following up on 'deviant' members.

I fly so low under the radar in stealth mode, the WT will NEVER get me! FU a-holes!

Seriously, how is Facebook going to know if you are using or have created a real-sounding, but totally FAKE user name? Complete and utter BS. Oh I'm sure the WTS has been seeing a mass exodus for some time now, but what they can do about it? Absolutely nothing. The younger generation are hip to technology and research info on everything on their smartphones. Knowledge is power, and no matter what the jw.borg cannot close Pandora's box now. They are slowly bleeding to death, and since no transfusions are allowed, they are going to croak. The internet cuts deeper into them with each passing hour, day, week, month. Seriously......look around at the congregations. How many under the age of 35 are left? Once the kiddo's hit age 18, they are GONE, never to turn. The local congregations around here might as well be geriatric convolescent mental homes, as that's all that are left. No wonder the Governing Body are making the money grab.

Last person out, turn off the old light.

    -Facebook is wanting real names

-Out of Facebooks 83 Million estimated duplicate account, I highly dount they're going to give a crap about a tiny religious group of ~8million members where only a fraction have facebook accounts, and an even smaller fraction have fake names.

-I am sure with all the take down notices of videos on YouTube that WT is being hurt by all the material online

-I would not be surprised if elders are being told to find their members online activities. Though how many elders are capable of this who knows.

-Elders who do know how to find people online are probably already doing so anyway.

KateWild - ".....why even bother with them?"

    Ideological "purity".

I love that comment about "Elders will spend time monitoring sites, and look out for apostate information etc..." !

They will surely be affected in some way by what they read!

That makes as much sense as Elders hanging out in a Porn shop or Strip joint or Brothel or Betting establishment etc just to see if they can catch out any witnesses who may frequent such places! Won't those elders be affected by the things they see around them in those places? Me thinks so......

Not happening, but its funny how naive JWs are to really believe something like this. Why can't Jehovah come down from the clouds and destroy the internet or something?

So you get the REAL names, now what. Where's the proof? You need proof.

    No Proof no case.

    But, anyway it's still BS

Passing on information is easier to catch then hunting through facebook. Take a body of elders and one is under suspicion. All the elders are given a 'secret document' and told to keep this information secure. The copy handed to the person under suspicion has a very small typo in the text something you wouldn't think twice about like a second period.. or dropping a leter Or finishing a sentence without a period

If that special document shows up online or where it doesn't belong you have a pretty good idea which elder it was.

If you know there is a leak but don't no who......... everyone gets the same document and every document has a small and unique change or different typo. If it shows up you have your spy.

    @Giordano

    Yup.

That, incidentally, is how Lucasfilm plugged Episode I plot leaks back in '98; fake scripts.
