@ one point in my journey away from fanaticism, I reasoned that even if we couldn't learn good morals and principles from the bible or religion, we could learn them from nature.
I believed that for about 5 minutes.
Nature is violent, senseless, brutal and evil. None of this was created by a loving god.
Yeah, it's a pretty good argument that if God created us, he didn't seem to have a problem with masturbation.
Religion has been trying (and failing) to control this normal, healthy, human behavior for centureies, to no avail. All it does is make some people feel guilty for no good reason. I don't think it's an issue in most mainstream religions these days, it's only high control groups like the Mormons and the JWs that make this an issue.

It' s simple. Monkeys masterbates because it feels good to them. Since us and monkeys share a common ancestor it's not surprisising humans feels the same.

frankie gave the correct answer from a JW perspective. This isn't really a good objection to the prohibition on masturbation; since when are Christians supposed to follow the example of "lower" animals?
