The rate at which the members of Jehovah's Witness membership (those of the earthly hope) is growing is right around the rate that the world population is growing. The rate at which the "anointed partakers" is growing is much higher!
So what really accounts for the "remarkable growth in Jehovah's modern day organization"?

Does this mean the WTS is now embracing the rising anointed numbers as... expected?
No. They say the number of the anointed grew (past tense). They did not say the number of the anointed has grown or is growing (present tense). It is apparent that they are not referring to the present growth in the number of the anointed. Their reference to the number of the anointed growing is a reference to the very early days before 1935 when all persons joining the organization professed to be anointed. Prior to 1935 the number of anointed grew as the number of JWs grew. This is the time period that the first sentence in the quote is alluding to. The last sentence in the quote says that the increase continues (present tense) with the gathering of the great crowd. So the quote is actually silent about the present growth in the number of the anointed. I wouldn't read too much into that quote.

It's like that scene in "1984", when the Party taught that Oceania had always been in war with Eurasia. When the allies changed and they went to war with Eastasia, the Party taught that Oceania had always been in war with Eastasia! And the 'sheep' took it!
It makes your head ache, these things, guys. Don't dwell so much in them. If one wants to be an Orwellian sheep, let them be. We use to blame the GB for everything, but the sheep are not free of fault. Ignorance is a choice.

according to wt writers, new anointed are NOT new converts, carry-overs of heavenly-hope former church members.
newly anointed come from the OS class wt Febr. 15 1998, page 20 par.10.
They might be preparing to declare the R&F, 'OS' to be spiritual Israelites, they are already the 12 tribes, just one more step/shove and they will be all partakers,
the separate count will stop.

Since the FDS = GB, the actual number going to heaven, whether a literal 144,000 or a much larger symbolic number, is of no significance to the WTS.
You may sip and nibble at the next memorial but you will not belong to the FDS and as such will have no input to doctrinal changes or the revealing of spirit directed new light. You are still a nobody.
